I GOT THESE PEDALS WHEN I BOUGHT THE BIKE. I HAVE PROBLEMS GET IN AND OUT. I JUST DONT LIKE THEM. BUYING LOOK CARBON SOON.

The cleat has metal at the wear points, this means you need new cleats much less often than with Look and Look-style.

Maybe a little harder to enter than some single-sided pedals. With practice, should be OK>

The problem that people speak about with these pedals is NOT the pedals themselves. It is a bad batch of cleats that Wellgo made. I got a set of bad cleats, one's cast angle of contact with the pedal wasincorrect. Sure enough, no amount of effort would allow clip-in. New cleats, and almost two years of use later, no problem, no wear.

Relative price and reliability

Ease of use seems to depend on the choice of shoe and cleat position on the shoe.

I have 2 bikes using these pedals - mine and my daughters. I've been using them with Shimano SPD shoes for two years with no problems. Initially, my daughter had problems clipping in when using SPD cleats on her road shoes. I changed the cleats to use the Look mounting and it became much easier to clip in. I believe the pedals work very well, but it is the type of cleat and its position on the shoe that appears to make the difference.

Lighter than most other single sided (e.g., LOOK/-compatible) pedals. Cleats available for EITHER road (LOOK 3-point mount & SPD-R) or mtb (SPD mount) shoes -- BOTH types of cleats are SPD-R mount compatible AND I think Shimano's SPD-R cleat will fit (in an emergency) if neither of the Wellgo cleats designed for the pedal are available (the shoe will be slightly elevated at the toe); so, they are "better" than the SPD-R if you wear an ATB/MTB or touring shoe. Well made -- easy to maintain ... Most parts are interchangeble with Shimano's SPD-R pedal! Other than the pedal's casting, only the front "receiver" APPEARS to be different from my Shimano Ultegra 6500 pedal.

No pedal is perfect ...

Honestly, I don't know what BobD's problem is UNLESS he has installed the cleats on his shoes backwards OR upside down ... but, after years of lurking, here, I'm finally forced to write a review. I've been riding for years/decades, and _finally_ switched to clipless pedals a few years ago -- I've used LOOK, SPD, SPD-R, and these Wellgo SPD-R clone pedals (WAM-R2, specifically). These, as well as SPD-R pedals, are a good alternative to LOOK & SPD-SL pedals for people who have been using single-sided SPD pedals (e.g., "older" Dura Ace) ... If you are already using a variant of Shimano's SPD-R pedal (and, like them!), but want to use a similar pedal with your ATB/MTB/touring shoe (being able to WALK in your cycling shoes is-a-good-thing at times), these are a good option. In a similar vein, I normally wear a non-road shoe, but I'm probably going to install a pair of the "red"/road Wellgo cleats on my road shoes next season in place of the LOOKs that are currently on the particular shoes.

None. These pedals are junk.

Cleats do not fit properly into the pedal. Quite a bit of bending and metalwork needed to make them fit.

These pedals were installed on my new Iron Horse Glory. I gave them a try with the included cleats on my Nike shoes. I could not get them to lock into the pedals no matter how hard I tried to align the cleats and set the tension. These pedals are JUNK!! Don't waste your time trying to bend and align the cleats to fit the pedals. THROW THEM AWAY. You will be better off in the long run.
