Strengths: Modern look. Just perfect.Weaknesses: Not as light and not as fast as higher gruppo (Ultegra, Dura Ace). But works almost the same.Bottom Line: This rear derailleur is really great. Its quiet, unlike Campy Mirage, and shifts smooth. It gets the job done and works like a machine.

Strengths: This part will git the job done.Weaknesses: none really, except maybe not as high quality pulleys as others.Bottom Line: This is a basic yet highly functional rear derailer. I have over 2000 miles on this one and it's fine. Higher end models will be lighter and may shift better in combo with other parts, but 105 is still a rock solid group.

Strengths: no frills derailer, can be purched somewhere in a 10 mile readius of where your sitting right nowWeaknesses: non for the price, if you really care about weight, get ultegra, derailler pulleys seem to get gunky really quickly ber that is a low cost maintance / replacement for top of the line pullys (get the ed carmichaels)Bottom Line: a r, derailler is the most likely piece of equipment to get damaged in a bad fall, record and dura ace make an all crack diet more slimming and cheaper
occasianal misshifts in bad wheather or when way to much dry wax has been applied

Strengths: It works great! Especially the long cage version..Weaknesses: Hmmmm... None I can think of as long as it's used as intended.Bottom Line: I bought one of these to tour with. I wanted to retrofit a racing bike with a bigger gear range, so I got the long cage version.
It shifts fast, it's super durable, and it's cheap. What more can you ask for? I've seen people use these on Mtn bikes, road bikes, cross bikes.... They're everywhere for a good reason.
Not the best choice for a race bike with a tight gear range, but that's not the market for this derailleur.

Strengths: No bad comments here--I bought this initially to use on one of my mountain bikes. Best road derailleur I have used for value and function. Works great in either index or friction mode.Weaknesses: NoneBottom Line: Good choice for those to whom function is more important than flash
