Strengths: Build and ride quality.Weaknesses: Pricing. Buy it used if you date.Bottom Line: I happen to like Colnago Forks after having the Star model on my C-40, now going into its 3rd season.
I bought this one on EBay where sometimes they get bid up. This one didn't and included the Colnago (ITM) steerer mandrel plus which is a superb product IMHO.
For me, the Force and Star forks offer the best combination of vertical compliance as well as stiffness in cornering/descending/out of saddle climbing and sprinting work. The unit compliance of the steerer/fork crown/fork blades is quite good, the best I've experienced. The expander plug is surprisingly made of metal. It firmly grips with ID of the steerer and allows a nice solid platform for the stem to wrap around and the steerer cap to tighten against.
Favorite Ride: tailwind please
Price Paid:
$200.00
Purchased At: EBay
Similar Products Used: A fair number of carbon and steel forks over the years.
Bike Setup: Merckx EX Ti. I bought this on EBay and like it so much, I sold my Litespeed Vortex. Partnered with the Force fork, it's magic. Not a sprint or crit bike but for all other uses, superb.
