Favorite Ride:
the hills of north county

Bike Setup:
blue competition RC5AL, ultegra10 with FSA SLK Mega exo compact, spinergy steatlh PBO, ritchey WCS cockpit.

Summary:
i decided to switch to a lighter fork after riding an alloy steerer for so long. carbon steer tubes have always been something i was skeptical about. i chose to forego the WCS version with the carbon dropouts, though.

this fork comes in much lighter than the stock aerus composites fork that was included with my frame.
the first time i rode the bike after installing it, i noticed it was stiffer, but also smoother over the high frequency stuff.
in terms of handling, it is as good as anything i've used before. it tracks nicely on high speed descents and stays nice and stable when braking hard into hairpins coming down palomar mountain where the aerus fork would tend to pulsate when transitioning from dragging to hard braking.

it's stiff, but not as stiff as, say, a kestrel EMS Pro.

Strengths:
nice and light, and pretty stiff. rides nice and smooth over bumpy asphalt. it also looks very cool - shaped like a katana.

Weaknesses:
none that i've found yet. i'll be sure to let you know if it ever snaps, though!

retails very high. i would not pay full retail for this fork at $250. heck, i wouldn't pay full retail for any fork.

Similar Products Used:
aerus composites straight blade alloy steerer, kestrel EMS Pro, fuji full carbon(also a very nice fork)
