Strengths:    Stiff, strong, great weld details

Weaknesses:    Headset is funky, decals

Bottom Line:
This is a nice stiff frame that is semi-compact. The overall level of finish is high and speaks to the hand building in Italy. The weld joints are all ground smooth and transition nicely into the tubes. Unlike many frames where the weld bead is left rough with minimal smoothing. The paint is good but not spectacular. The decals for the frame name and Basso are a bit too flamboyant for my tastes. I would prefer just a simple lettering without the stripes.

The ride is stiff and the BB gives little flex. The top tube is relatively short versus the seat tube but this can be compensated for by a longer stem.

I did not use the stock fork, but instead used my Reynolds fork. The headset is a bit funky. The two bearings friction fit into the machined openings and the fork steerer tube friction fits to the inside of the lower bearing. It is a very tight fit. The instructions for the headset installation are inadequate. The trick is to use the headset top cap and bolt to pull the whole mess together tight.
