at veloeuropa Favorite Ride: brainard lake hillclimb Bike Setup: cyfac xlr8r with dura ace groupo and ksyrium wheels. Summary: i ordered a custom cyfac starship frame with the insurance money i got after being hit by a car. however, there was some confusion with the color scheme and my frame had to be returned to the shop in france to be re-painted. in the meantime, eric sakalowsky at veloeuropa.com was kind enough to loan me an xlr8r built with dura ace for spring training.
this frame is phenomenal. having worked in bike shops for a fair amount of time, i had grown accustomed to getting "deals," buying frames and components that were not quite what i wanted but were the best i could do with limited money. well, you get what you pay for - never before have i ridden a bike that is so light and responsive, yet *stiff* beyond all my expectations. and the bike is gorgeous, with immaculate welds, colombus muscle carbon rear triangle and fork, and a stunning paint job. there are no decals on this bike, it's all painted on.
the key thing here is that this is cyfac's lowest end frame. these guys know what they're doing - yeah, their frames are pricey, but if you want unparalleled performance i guess you have to shell out some cash! Strengths: 1. STIFF
2. light
3. damps vibrations beautifully

5. nobody else has one Weaknesses: none whatsoever Similar Products Used: most recently, fuji scandium team issue
