Product Description

The EMX-5 is one of the best performing bicycles on the road? just ask any of the Quickstep Pro Team who rode the EMX-5 for the entirety of the 2010 season. The 2012 Merckx EMX-5 is a serious road racer that doesn?t compromise comfort. It?s is a top-tier handmade monocoque competition frame that?s strikingly similar in geometry to its sister the EMX-7 but without the integrated seat mast. This year Merckx has taken the carbon to a whole new level and has upgraded the EMX-5 frame to 50 Ton per square millimeter high modulus carbon fiber. Amazingly, this makes it even stronger and lighter than ever before. As a testament to the tough Belgian quality, the EMX-5 did not have a single frame failure all season; this includes training, racing, and crashing in the most demanding bicycle races in the world. The EMX-5 is also the personal choice of French road champion Sylvain Chavanel. Given his aggressive riding style; this speaks volumes for the quality and responsiveness of the frame. The EMX-5 and EMX-7 are Merckx?s top race frames. Their torsional stiffness, relative compliance and overall performance are unmatched. The EMX-5 achieves all this while being surprisingly affordable. 2012 EMX-5 features -Frame, fork, headset and seatpost all included -50HM + 1k carbon weave, provides a light and stiff ride -Internal cable routing -BB86 molded bottom bracket system -Limited lifetime Warranty
