Strengths:    Light weight. Strength. Comfort.

Weaknesses:    None.

Bottom Line:
Loved this bike from the very first ride. I immediately felt like I could ride faster and climb better. I am 6'2 and 230lbs. With all of my other bikes I could flex the back end of the bike when I came out of the saddle and pushed hard. I have never experienced this with the Z-1. This bike does so many things well. But what I appreciate the most is its comfort. I do century rides almost monthly and on occasional I will do a double. So I spend a lot of time on the bike. While my butt may get pretty sore I have noticed much less discomfort in my back. While this bike may not be as colorful as many bikes out there it is still a stanout machine.

Is the Z1 racy enough for racing?

I do road races, usually on bad, torn-up roads. My Scott CR1 is a little too twitchy for fast, bumpy descents. Considering the Z1, but I don't want a "comfort" bike --- I want a    Read More »
