Price Paid:  $2700.00 at Craigslist

Favorite Ride:
Santa Cruz, Aptos Hills

Bike Setup:
Bontrager Race X lite tubular wheels, DA brakes, pedals, and deraileurs, FSA carbon compact crank, carbon handlebars.

Summary:
15 lb bike including pedals. Rides great and is on rails around corners. No noticeable frame flex and I'm 5'8" 180lbs. I could ride this on a century without complaints and my last bike was titanium. All your power goes to the street when you're up out of the saddle.

Strengths:
Love the white finish. Love the front fork. Super tight on turns.

Weaknesses:
Not an aerodynamic frame. Not sure if I like compact carbon cranks. Need more speed downhill and I think I'd prefer the rigidity of the DA aluminum crank.

Similar Products Used:
Litespeed Titanium

Price Paid:  $0.00 at Mock Orange Bikes -

Favorite Ride:
3 Mountain Metric - NC

Bike Setup:
Full DA 7800, Mavic Cosmic Carbone SL wheels, Zipp stem and handlebar, Fizik saddle, Speedplay pedals.

Summary:
My first bike when I was 16 was a custom Reynolds 531 frame and it spoiled me. Ever since swinging a leg over that ride I have been searching for the same sensations it gave me. Finally the 585 has delivered, plus all the positive attibutes carbon provides. This is a fantastic bike for virtually every scenario: descending, climbing, sprinting, cruising. It does it all with great efficiency and never lets you down.

Strengths:
Overall great performer

Weaknesses:
Price and "old" lugged technology.

Similar Products Used:
Edwins (Reynolds 531), Colnago Carbitubo (twin down tube carbon), Calfee TetraPro (carbon), Lemond Tete de Course (carbon/titanium version)

Summary:
This for me has been a work in progress. I have ridden Look bikes for years. Starting with a 200 model, then 381s and a 386. Simply stated, Look evolves. All are great but this is such a refined workhorse. Purely, a bike for all situations..great on climbs, takes corners as if on rails, and sprints with the best of them. Credit Agricole's man man for the classics ( Thor H. ) used this bike for last years Paris Roubaix over the 595.
This bike provides for a ride that I would put up against any manufacture for a bike that can hold up under any situation on the road.

Strengths:
Great Utilitarian Frameset
Best overall bike that I have ridden. Stiff, comfortable, responsive..choice for Thor H. for last years classics.
The bike puts out anything you put in.
Very Stable
I would recommend this bike for anyone looking for a bike that can climb like a goat, descend confidently, and provide a stiff bb for sprinting yet allow for a ride that allows for hours in the saddle.

Weaknesses:
Not sure how to answer this..Don't want to train in the rain or snow...

Price Paid:  $4000.00 at Self Built

Favorite Ride:
Navasota to Anderson

Bike Setup:
Red Look 585: frame, ergo seat post, fork and integrated FSA headset, SRAM Red groupo, Keo Carbon pedals, Specialized Taupe seat and S Works Carbon bars, DT Swiss built by Joe Young on R1.1 rims, 240s hubs, 3x supercomp spokes

Summary:
The Look 585 is a on a different level. The bike accelerates very quick especially uphill, Unlike many other carbon bikes it does not have that hollow feeling. The ride is compliant, but not soft. I find it to be a great overall ride. This LOOK does not look like my Colnago, but she gets the looks.

Strengths:
Very light, quick, compliant, and looks good too.

Weaknesses:
None, maybe the braking is not as good as my other bikes, but that may be the SRAM brakes.

Price Paid:  $0.00 at Ebay

Favorite Ride:
Anything in the Hill Country, TX

Bike Setup:
Campagnolo Record 10 speed. Mavic R-SYS Wheels, FSA K-Force Seatpost, Stem, handlebars, Selle Italia SLR Gel Saddle, Keo Carbon LOOK Pedals

Summary:
Best bike I've ever had. I built it up with 2008 Record 10 speed, R-SYS wheels, and FSA handlebars, stem and seat post and it came in at an awesome 15.1 lbs with computer sensors, and pedals! I previously had the same set up on a 2007 Colnago C-50 and it came in at 16.9lbs. Not to take away from the Colnago. It was a beautiful bike that rode beautifully, but the LOOK is in another league when it comes to weight. Not to mention that it fits better. Accelerates amazingly, climbs like a stag, and super comfortable on the long rides! R-SYS wheels are pretty stiff, but definitely doesn't beat you up. I would recommend this bike over and over! I've put about 300 miles on it and LOOK for thousands more!!

Strengths:
LIGHT!! Light!! Light!!
Stiff, Fast!!

Weaknesses:
Only thing I can say is I liked the finish on the Colnago better. Paint and clearcoat are hard to beat on the Colnagos..
Oh and I wish it came with a front derailleur hanger. Don't like to have to put a clamp on a carbon frame.

Similar Products Used:
Raleigh Prestige, Fuji Team Pro, Colnago C-50, Serrotta Fierte, MOOTS Vamoots.
