Lynskey Performance Designs Cooper Frameset Frames

4.89/5 (18 Reviews)
MSRP : $1395.00

Product Description

The Cooper was drawn from the bloodlines of our top level road race frames. By starting with an oversized cold-worked tubeset, the Cooper has the stiffness, handling and excellent ride quality you expect from a Lynskey frame. The Cooper’s performance far exceeds many similarly priced road frames no matter what material they are made from. All of the great features you expect from a Lynskey Performance road frame, but at a value that will make others jealous. And as always, each frame is hand-made in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Strengths:    TI is magic.

Excels at all of those qualities which roadies desire. Stiff, confidence inspiring, precise handling, comfortable and all of those other things that bicycling magazine goes on about.

Weaknesses:    I like it so much that I am not motivated to purchase the helix

Bottom Line:
I am a mountain biker and I bought this bike to get faster on the trail. I own a 2010 pro29 and consider it to be the best bicycle ever made. I am extremely impressed with Cooper, especially for being the entry level model. The TI classic look is sexy, and receives allot attention and compliments in the sea of 10k carbon clay bicycles here in Washington D.C. In my opinion the china Carbon/clay frames are now becoming passé, and TI is going to make a raging come back because Ti is made from magic!

Stiff- when you have it up to max velocity it still wants to jump out from under you. In the corners the bicycle begs to carve deeper, and offers those reassuring feelings of handling confidence. Yet the cooper is extremely comfortable. I had the bicycle up to 50 last night on hill, and it felt like it was floating like a maglev train.

Comfortable? Yup it smoothes out the bumps, aging pavement, and road buzz and all of those other qualities roadies like.

Light? I built the bicycle full ultegra, a decently light weight wheelset, and the bike weighs in at 15.5 lbs. A friend of mine complains that his 13lb sworks is too light because it gets jumpy in the corners. The 16lb benchmark is the ideal.

Best of all it's handmade in the U.S.A!!

If you can't afford the helix go with the cooper.

Strengths:    Everything about the frame is superb, the finish is second to none

Weaknesses:    None that I can find

Bottom Line:
Lynskey Cooper - The Lynskey frame doesn't disapoint the welds are really well finished as is the rest of the frame. Rode around 300 miles in the last seven days it is awesome, corners and climbs really well whilst the ride is the most comfortable bike I have had the good fortune to own.

Strengths:    Sturdy, smooth and good looking. Recommended size was right. (There is no local dealer here and I couldn't test ride it) The bike shipped one day earlier than promised. Jack K. answered all my emails and phone calls quickly and made the process easy.

Weaknesses:    none

Bottom Line:
This is a beautiful bicycle.I purchased the frame directly from Lynskey. The industrial mill finish looks nice. I rode 150 miles since having it built last week. The feel of the bike is much smoother and immediately noticeable. It's steady on a steep descent and I still kept up with my riding buddies on a fast club ride.
