Lynskey Performance Designs R330 frame Frames

4.83/5 (6 Reviews)

Product Description

Helix shaped seat stays.......shaped top and down tubes......assymetrical chain stays.....beautiful welds.....rock solid handling....no flex at the bottom bracket....This bike does it all with style. Forget the throw-away carbon aka plastic bikes and get something that wil withstand the test of time and look absolutely stunning doing it. When I stand on the pedals to climb, I can feel the bike surge ahead....pushing a big gear on the flats there's no deflection in the back end or at the bottom bracket.....the bike is still but without the harshness of some fat tubed aluminum bikes....I've had my Lynskey for 3 weeks and have 350 miles on it.....and I cannot wait until I can get back out there and ride it.

Strengths:    Stiff and beautiful ride quality. I'm deep into the 200lb range, I ride aggressively and climb a lot of hills, and the frame shows no sign of strain and climbs the hill like no other.

Weaknesses:    None

Bottom Line:
I purchased this bike for long distance weekend rides, but after riding it several weekends I just couldn't get back on my commuter bike, so now this has turned into my daily commuter... hey, why not ride your best bike every day?

Strengths:    Smooth and cushy yet stiff for aggressive ride.

Weaknesses:    none so far, but would like to compare the stiffness with Helix.

Bottom Line:
Great ride! Stiff bottom bracket yet comfortable. Smooth out most bumps on the road, make speed strips bearable on the saddle.

Strengths:    It will still be riding great long after the carbon bikes are in pieces

Weaknesses:    none

Bottom Line:
I built this bike up last fall before the season ended but it only took a few rides to really appreciate this bike. Corners down the steep hills like it's on rails, surprisingly stiff under power, very smooth ride. 15.8 lbs w/pedals, bottlecages, computer, large size.

Strengths:    Beautiful ride quality, even over poor road surfaces. Stunning good looks. Stiff, responsive but still comfortable. Climbs well. It often receives compliments from people at the local post ride coffee shops which is great :o)

Weaknesses:    None identified

Bottom Line:
I purchased my Lynskey on the recommendation of several friends who all own titanium frames, and I can honestly say it's been fantastic. The customer service I received from Don at Lynskey was second to none, and he was happy to answer all my questions even though I didn't end up buying it directly from them. I only own one bike, so I needed something that was versatile enough to handle crit racing at my local club, 80km+ weekend social rides, and 200km distance events. The R330 performs beautifully at all of these and is a joy to ride. The lifetime warranty and durability of titanium is very reassuring.

I would definitely recommend a Lynskey to anyone considering purchasing a new bike, especially if you are thinking about titanium.

Weaknesses:    If I had to complain, the claimed weight listed for a SMALL frame was 2.5lbs...mine came in at 2.8lbs but this is me being too much of a weight weenie. The bike's ride is excellent.

Bottom Line:
After riding a Waterford built Paramount for 20+ years, I thought I would stick with steel...but someone from my LBS swore on his Lynskey. After taking advantage of a sale, I worked out a deal with the fantastic folks at Lynskey...and now I'm a proud owner of a brushed finish, etched logo, R330.

The overall weight of the bike came out at 16.8lbs, not weight weenie but respectable. Ride quality is excellent. The frame absorbs uneven pavement and my body feels so much better afterward. I'm able to ride longer distances, sprint faster, and climb better on this bike.

The naked Ti finish looks timeless and the bike cleans up nicely. I would certainly recommend Lynskey to others.
