Strengths:    A true custom frame and fork you won't find anywhere else anytime soon for the money.

Weaknesses:    None

Bottom Line:
I designed a super heavy duty cyclocross for trails, touring and trekking in foreign countries. Bernie built the ultimate machine with standard road geometry and fail safe design. The ride is firm and dependable under all conditions (rain, snow, sleet). Built for traveling on the most unforgiving terrain. I can't recommend the Mikkelson frames highly enough. Best value for the money with uncompromising expertise in build quality.

Strengths:    Detail, workmanship, customization.

Weaknesses:    NA

Bottom Line:
The frame is the first I have ever had that fits like a glove. Bernie's Pro-Sizer really helped narrow down the frame requirements to what was best for me. We also worked out all of the frame's details together so I got exactly what I ordered. It rides extremely well. Holds a line, corners, and sprints with exceptional smoothness. Rides very nicely on and off the road which is what I was going for. The workmanship is excellent and the welds rival any high end steel fabricater plus there are added thoughtful touches to the construction. I have an Ibis as well and the BM is even nicer. Hghly recommended.

cyclo-cross frame design

This is a first try at a frame geometry specifically for cyclo-cross, the humpback to allow the shoulder to be closer to the headtube than standard. While it may look flexy it's at least as stiff in all ways as standard geometry, didn't expect that but that's the way it rides. [url]http://tinyurl ... Read More »

I see bikes all over called cyclo cross, or cross this, or that cross with frames that do not seem like cyclo cross frames to me. For those that are interested in CX, what in your mind are the elements of a frame being a True Cyclo Cross frame? Which design features must be present to keep the fr ... Read More »
