The Leonardo FP has a monocoque high modulus 46HM3K unidirectional carbon fiber frame with Opus carbon fork, rear stays, and M.O.st. oversized bottom bracket. An unpainted 54 cm frame weighs 990 grams and is available in 9 sizes. Thanks to Leonardo FP's special tube shapes, this frame has a perfect balance between stiffness and comfort for long distance riding. Includes Frame, Integrated Headset, and Fork.
Strengths: Smooth as silk, strong, stable, light, quick--among the best, if not the best, I have ever ridden--and I have ridden a LOT!!
Weaknesses: No longer made, hard to find, headset is a bit tricky to set up correctly (requires two bearing rings on the lower cuff, rather than one, for best fit/operation)--best is to by a frame fork combo with headset already installed.
I originally had a "53" completely build up with Campy mechs--loved the bike, fast, quick, smooth, comfortable--BUT, too small. A year or two later I was able to track down a "55"--just my size, and the rest is history--perhaps the smoothest, fastest, most comfortable bike I have ever ridden--a sprinter, a climber and a cruiser all rolled into one. The bike is all carbon, with the "wavy" seat stays and the "wavy" fork--they do sever to cushion the ride, while at the same time offer great rigidity in cornering and climbing. Finishing, paint, graphics among the best in the business. My bike looks as great as it rides. Absolutely a perfect bike, such a shame they are no longer made.
