Product Description

The 2012 NXR is a blend of the best attributes of Time’s lineup. It’s the pick for riders looking for a comfortable "Gran Fondo" ride without making major sacrifices in performance. Time has been building handmade, proprietary-carbon frames in France for over 2 decades. Time's Resin Transfer molding manufacturing process produces a frame that is flawless inside and out. Their frames have been optimized down to the smallest details and they employ their special in-house carbon design and manufacturing in all aspects of construction. Everything is made in-house and of top grade materials: bottom bracket shell, one-piece fork, fork dropouts, stem with CMT insert, and even bottle cage bolts are all produced by Time's factories in Europe.

Strengths:    Fantastic power delivery from a big you can comfortably sit on all day. I've had both a Giant TCR SL0 and Propel SL0, and with this you get both bikes in one. Great entry into the glory of Time bikes.

Weaknesses:    The monocoque front-end and lugged rear-end will take some getting used to, but it is what provides the razor handling and acceleration, while being comfortable over a long distance. Not a weakness, just a point of difference.

Oh yeah, the saddle connections on the seat-tube are a clever, but watch for them vibrating loose and the base-plate dropping out - you'll also lose your saddle at the same time. It's only design flaw.

Bottom Line:
Excellent handling and acceleration, while providing minimal vibration and excellent comfort over long kilometres.
