When the icy grip of winter takes hold, your summer jersey isn't going to help you get those base miles. It also doesn't help that, just like the spring, the variance of winter temperatures can be completely disorienting. You need a jersey that's both versatile and comfortable to stave off the chills. Basically, you need the Giordana Silverline Women's Long Sleeve Jersey.Giordana's Silverline Women's Long Sleeve Jersey received a face lift to better combat the chills of winter. Most notably, the jersey now uses a blend of Giordana's ERG200 and ThermoDream fabrics, with the bulk of the construction using ERG200 -- and for good reason. This material uses a complex, circular knit that utilizes its open structure to promote moisture transfer, breathability, and stretch. We understand that these attributes sound more akin to a summer-weight jersey, but they are needed for winter as well. Inevitably, with Silverline's post-production, brushed inner lining, you'll be experiencing a comfortable sensation of warmth. But, if not for the open-cell weave, your rising core temperature would have you drowning in sweat. In a nutshell, ERG200 promotes a consistent thermo-regulation, without going overboard on either end of spectrum.And while these features are integral to the Silverline's design, Giordana knows that comfort is king, or in this case, queen. ERG200 is a thin polyester yarn that's soft to the touch, yet resistant to abrasion and pilling. In fact, Giordana took its comfort to another level by brushing it to increase both the loft and softness. An added perk of this process is the creation of a stronger insulation layer. Another key component to the jersey's comfort is its ability to move and stretch with your body throughout movement. To achieve this, Giordana used a multi-phase approach. To start, the rear-center panel is made from the ThermoDream fabric. This is a winter-weight microfiber that uses an interlocking knit to provide a great deal of stretch. Giordana likens it to nylon/spandex, only with a weight that can withstand winter. The second step is the multi-paneled design that follows Giordana's Women's Contour Fit process. With this, Giordana guarantees an anatomic cut that will follow the contours of the female body in cycling-specific positions and movements.This year, the Silverline Jersey has been given a taller collar for added protection from the elements. It also features a full-length zipper and a silicone gripper at the rear hem. For storage, the jersey has three rear pockets to hold your ride essentials. And to provide a heightened visibility in low-light conditions, Giordana included reflective elements over the rear pockets.The Giordana Silverline Women's Long Sleeve Jersey is available in five sizes from X-Small to X-Large and in the colors Black, Purple, and Red.
