a Commuter
from Date Reviewed: July 10, 2009
Strengths: Steel frame and componentry! Internal hub generator for head lamp. Frame still accomodates a 700 x 35 studded tire for snow packed/icy commuting.Weaknesses: Head lamp is a bit dim. I am comfortable on my night rides home due to the fact that I've ridden the same route so many times that I know where the pot holes are. I would not reccommend riding without street lights, unless you already know the road.Bottom Line: This bike has been great over the last year of commuting. The components are all great; shifting is good and I can still tackle the hills without any problems with only 18 gears. The internal hub generator is pretty sweet too. The steel frame absorbs much of the road vibration on commutes, but is not too heavy. Provides plenty of opportunities for compliments. All in all, I'm very happy with my Bianchi!
Favorite Ride: Wabash Trace Trail
Price Paid:
$600.00
Purchased At: Bike Masters- Omaha,
Bike Setup: I've added a rack to mount my pannier bags, clip in pedals, and some lights. But stock is all great.
