The Jamis Earth Cruiser 4 looks like the original mountain bike in that black and white photo with gary fisher thrashing a mountain. The Jamis Earth Cruiser 4 is the best flat terrain bike for someone that wants one bike to suit many needs. the bike is very light and simple. internal braking and gearing from the nexus inter4. commuting with this bike is a breeze. 60 lbs of tire pressure and give those roadies a run for the money on their ten mile warmup. i stealthed a roadie on ponte vedra blvd one day. he realized he was getting out paced by a beach cruiser and needed to pick it up. he caught up and yelled out, "man, your going 22 miles per hour on a beach cruiser!" that's with a rack on the back. i decided to further my research and try hannah park mountain bike trails in atlantic beach florida near mayport naval air station. unfortunately, the trail proved a little too hairy for my trusty steed. i whacked a stump and tacoed my chainwheel. for 2005, shimano no longer carries the four speed and they choose to use a less versatile 3 speed coaster. the gear range is drastically limited with the three speed setup. in closing, the jamis 4 is the funnest bicycle i have ever had the pleasure of owning and i recommend this bike to everyone i meet. lightweight. stable. maintenance free design. casual look to prevent theft. nuts and bolts instead of quick release to prevent theft. looks like the bike that was deemed the original mountain bike. Weaknesses:
unavailable. nexus only has the three speed, and has dratically limited the ability of this bike. the bike feels unstable with a larger child in the child seat. longer frame beach cruisers are better in this situation Similar Products Used:
