Price Paid:  $0.00

Model Year:
2005

Summary:
Have a Lemond for the road, bought the Calypso for around town crusing.

Strengths:
Styling! I put wide whitewalls on it and now Pee Wee Herman has nothing on me.

Weaknesses:
Position is awkward for my height (6'3"). An adjustable stem helped. Have thought about changing out the handlebars and putting an offset seat post, but am afraid it would interfere with the feng shui.

Price Paid:  $329.00 at Paul's Bicycle Way o

Model Year:
2007

Favorite Ride:
Worst Ride- Trek Calypso

Summary:
I purchased this bike for my daily 6 mile commute, after the bike shop told me that I needed to upgrade my 1998 Schwinn Cruiser since it didn't have a Shimano shifter. After riding the Trek to work daily, the chain fell off every week. After getting my 100 mile tune-up, the shop had to install a special metal piece that would prevent the chain from falling off again. One day later, the chain not only fell off, but became so tangled up, that I decided I had had enough and took the bike back for a refund. I had a Schwinn Cruiser for years and never had a problem with it. This Trek was also very uncomfortable compared to my old Schwinn. Now I have no bike, as I sold my Schwinn to buy this piece of X*&*&&!

Strengths:
light weight
7 gears (when they work right)

Weaknesses:
7 gears- gears were always changing on their own, almost causing accidents.
chain slipped off every week
very uncomfortable ride compared to my old Schwinn (which I sold to buy this piece of junk)

Price Paid:  $220.00 at Bike One, Port Orang

Model Year:
2007

Favorite Ride:
Calypso Dark Green

Bike Setup:
Very easy to adjust the components on this bike.

Summary:
I have a friend with a 2004 Calypso with over 3500 miles on it, which for a cruiser is allot of miles, thats what made me look at this bike. I liked the light weight of the bike (Alpha Aluminum), it looks heavier than it is. The tubing is big, and has very nice welds. I also like its stance. Most of the cruisers you find have a smaller space between rider and handlebars, this one allows for a comfortable ride. You can sit up on the cushy wide seat and enjoy the scenery. The multiple speeds allow changes necessary for riding in wind, on hills, and longer trips. Overall this bike is Awesome.

Strengths:
stylish, well built, comfort cruising at its finest.

Weaknesses:
It would be nice if the fenders were made of aluminum as well, would have made bike lighter and allot more rustproof.

Similar Products Used:
Schwinn Hollywood (smaller steel frame, and handlebars too close to occupant.)
