Strengths: Accelleration and handling were the bomb. Today's race started on a descent course which then turned into a medium thick chowder for the most part, so with the conditions, I ran this bike through some nasty turns, descents, short sloppy climbs, and fast gravel/pavement. It felt awesome for a break in ride.Weaknesses: As I age, I prefer a carbon fork... no, I NEED a carbon fork. It's a preference thing, and I know with a carbon fork, it would smooth things out for me and make the ride just that much better.Bottom Line: 2005 Cross season is upon us. I had the opportunity to DEMO one of these for a race (great deal eh?). Overall, the bike was great. It performed up to it's name... Stumptown... if you have to ask, I can't explain.
Favorite Ride: CrossCrusade!!!
Purchased At: CyclePath
Similar Products Used: I went from racing on a LeMond Wayzatta to the Stumptown. Typically I ride an Airborne Blackbird.
Bike Setup: This particular one was a size 53 w/Ultegra 10 spd, FSA double, WTB rims and tires, Thompson seatpost and stem (shorty). Flat black paint job w/killer camo bar tape.
