Strengths:    Light, strong and very rigid
Excellent longitudinal balance
Disk brakes
Excellent stock components
Very quick and maneuverable steering

Weaknesses:    Expensive?

Bottom Line:
Best bike I ever had. I have a 2009 model. It's light and very rigid. When you pedal, it feels like your energy is converted to forward acceleration, not fighting with the machine's flex or inefficiencies.

Strengths:    Mega strong frame and razor sharp brakes/handling/looks

Weaknesses:    Low bars and uncomfy seat. Oh and that faulty front caliper.

Bottom Line:
My bike is an early 2008 model which I purchased from Arthur Caygill Cycles in the UK for £650. (GBP)
It rides/handles really smooth but the front brake HAD a very loud sqeal when applied hard. This was resolved under warranty by replacing the front caliper. The bars were way too low for me so I replaced with FSA wider bars that also rise around 2" from stock. Its a different ride altogether (much easier on the back and neck). I plan to change the saddle for a comfortable gel type with adjustable post to tilt the seat.

Overall a very capable bike that eats up the miles.

Strengths:    Stiff efficient frame, GREAT dual hydraulic disk brakes and XT components, 27 gears

Weaknesses:    handle bar a little low

Bottom Line:
The bike is a 2008 model and I got it a few days ago. It accelerates great, rides/handles great and brakes very well. I dodn't want any suspension and this was the best urban bike without a suspension I could find after a week's research/shopping. It's tougher than your usual 700 which is why I bought it. I will mod. this to bring the handle bar up about 1.5 or 2 inches but other than that it's a perfect bike for me getting around Seattle AND event riding. It cost me the equivalent of 200 gallons of gas and will pay for itself in 3-4 years as I run local errands with this thing not to mention the health benefits. MC

Strengths:    Looks, Shifting, Comfort, Hydraulic Disc Braking, Continental Tires, NVO adjustable handlebar stem

Weaknesses:    If there is a weakness, I haven't found it yet.

Bottom Line:
This is a 2008 model Scott SUB 10. The SUB stands for Speed Utility Bike. Although I have owned this bike for only 3 weeks, at this point I am thoroughly impressed. I wanted a strong commuter that will stand up to some rougher terrain, and that is what I got plus a whole lot more. The ride is extremely stable, yet the bike is still very nimble. I believe some of the amazing stability is due to the extended chain stay lengths. Shifts are quick and light thanks to the Deore shifters and derailers. The brakes on this bike are simply amazing. The hydraulic Deore brakes will bring this bike to a hault in short order in any weather. I have the 700c version of Alex rims with Continental Sport Contacts. The tires are very grippy and give me a lot of confidence whether on nice asphalt or grainy, sandy patches. I did a lot of research and tested a lot of bikes before choosing this Scott. For the price nothing else comes close, including Giant's FCR1, and Specializded Sirrus, not even the Cannondale Bad Boy. The Scott Sub 10 is absolutely the best looking bike in the commuter and hybrid lineups.
