Light and rugged. Fast and strong. You get the best of both worlds with Trek's 7.5 FX WSD! Its FX Black Series aluminum women's-specific frame provides an efficient, comfortable ride, while the Bontrager carbon fork is super light and damps vibrations for a velvety-smooth ride. You'll also appreciate the light Bontrager SSR wheels and the Bontrager Race Lite Hardcase tires, which are equally at home on roads, paths, and trails. Plus, the 27-speed drivetrain gives you the right gears for any hill and pace, and the linear-pull brakes offer total control.
Strengths: The WSD seat is super comfy for long rides, although for touring days on end, chamois bike pants are needed. The carbon fiber fork is light and the bike's total weight is very light.
Weaknesses: The Avid brake pads are terrible. It is as if the rubber compound on the brakes is rubbing off and gets flicked onto the frame and clothes. The situation is worse when it is wet as the rubber dust mixes with water and creates a staining black paste. I would recommend this bike to others except with the condition that they replace the brake pads before they ride it to protect their frame and clothes from damage.
Bottom Line:
I have been stoked with my Trek 7.5FX WSD, it's a great bike to ride for commuting and short cycle touring trips.
Bike Setup: Stock standard plus Bontrager rear touring rack, Cateye front and rear lights, Specialized bar ends, SKS mud guards, Schwalbe studded tyres (for winter), kickstand.
