Price Paid:  $350.00 at Brooklyn

Model Year:
2000

Favorite Ride:
Trek 7300

Summary:
I'm 5'1", and although the 7300 is a bit big for me, I LOVE MY BIKE. It's a smooth, stable lightweight ride. I ride to work and back every day, and ride for pleasure on my days off. I use this bike to carry groceries in attached panniers, and the bike is still stable, even with a 10 lb bag of cat litter on one side, and a 10 lb bag of groceries on the other. I would not trade this for anything. LOVE!

Price Paid:  $480.00 at Greggs Greenlake Cyc

Model Year:
2007

Favorite Ride:
To School and Back

Summary:
Excellent commuter bike. I got lucky in the sense that the tires on this bike were thinner (much similar to a road bike) than on same other Trek 7.3 FX's
Put on a rear bike rack and a kick stand (both from my older bike) and new fenders coz I live in Seattle.

Strengths:
Light weight, Flat handle bar (good for those with weak backs) Comfortable for long rides. Shifts easily and cleanly.

Weaknesses:
Shocks transmit freely through the frame. The seat maybe a little uncomfortable to begin, but get used to soon. Snazzy elliptical (weird) frame means typical accessories like bike lock holder cannot be clamped on.

Price Paid:  $650.00 at Ridley's Cycle and S

Model Year:
2007

Favorite Ride:
Calgary zoo/Nose Creek north

Bike Setup:
Added lights, may add mudguards and a kickstand

Summary:
Broke my old hybrid commuter after 6 years of use. The 7.3FX is stronger and lighter, is geared faster for better hill climbs and descents. It's also a great-looking bike [I have the metallic black] and the design seems better thought out and refined than my old bike.

Strengths:
Light, strong, solid and fast. I crank pretty hard on hills and in traffic and the FX seems to be taking it easily.

Weaknesses:
Bumps and rough surfaces seemed more pronounced than with my old bike. The stock seat feels uncomfortable, but may just need adjustment. No kickstand, no place for my old lock holder on the jazzy elliptical frame tubes.

Price Paid:  $449.00 at Bicycle Connection

Model Year:
2007

Favorite Ride:
Trek FX 7.3

Bike Setup:
Stock all the way and have a Co-pilot baby seat on the back.

Summary:
Bought this bike in March to replace my worn out Trek 830 Antelope. The bike handles well on roads and on compacted stone trails. It even handles well with a child seat on the back. The bike is fast on the down hill and has enough gears to climb up most hills.

Strengths:
The bike is light for a hybrid and handles wells. Good speed on the downhill because of the smooth tire setup.

Weaknesses:
The shifting always seems to be a little out, but for the most part it shifts when needed.
