at Carbondale Cycle-Car Model Year: 2007 Bike Setup: Stock with reflectors and manufacturers stickers removed. I am changing the chrome screws out for flat black one's to further the monochromatic appearance. I'm changing the pedals to something with more "tooth" and that is flat black and not grey. Summary: I went into my local bike shop to get my son's bike repaired. I had no intention on buying a bike for myself, as I already have several bikes that do the job well for me. When I saw the Trek Drifter in matte black, it really caught my eye! I'm into hotrods, and the Rockabilly lifestyle, and it seemed that this bike was made for me. I have restored cruisers from the 40's, but they were always tanks that took a huge effort to motivate on... The aluminum frame on the Drift, sealed the deal for me! Strengths: Aluminum Frame
Style
Matte Finish Weaknesses: Geared too low for my taste. I realize that this bike is designed to cruise beaches, and for that it is PERFECT... I bought this to commute the 2 miles to work, with a little more style than my Trek mountain bike offers. My fix, is going to be to simply swap out sprockets to give me a little more speed.
The pedals look out of place on this bike, and are really slippery when riding in rain or snow...
