Price Paid:  $3400.00 at Bought used from Slo

Model Year:
2005

Bike Setup:
HED3 rear wheel. Phil wood wheel front. Dura-Ace brakes and front deraileur. SRAM Rocket shifters. Bontrager Race x Light triple cranks - 54,42,30

Summary:
I just finished riding this bike to second place overall in the North American UMCA 12 hour time trial championships. The 2007 Ring of Fire time trial. 12750 feet of climbing in the 113 mile day loop and 2200 feet of climbing in each of the 26 mile night loops. The Stiletto is light so it climbs. With fairing and sock it's aerodynamic so it descends. The carbon fiber frame vertical flex makes it comfortable so you can ride it all day plus.

Strengths:
Light weight, comfort, speed, handling

Weaknesses:
Cannot take an 11 tooth cog. 12 tooth is minimum without chain stay rubbing.

Price Paid:  $0.00 at bentupcycles

Model Year:
2005

Favorite Ride:
calfee stiletto

Bike Setup:
Kevlar/Carbon fairing, HED3 Rear wheel, Carbon bontrager 170mm cranks, look keo carbon pedals, Carbon Cobra seat, Qrings triple.

Summary:
"It's amazing that what appeals to the eye does not necessarily appeal to the touch" The Stiletto to me is not a classically beautiful bike, nor is Mona Lisa a beautiful woman, but each is a work of art nonetheless.

What makes it so is not in the simple assemblage of parts but in the function they bring to the whole experience of cycling; effortless feeling of movement, near psychic response to input, unparalleled maneuverability, and comfort to bless miles of riding.

The Stiletto unfaired is no faster than a woman in high heels but there are times when going slow is not only acceptable but preferred. Of course speed is part of the unconscious language of dreams, and truly subjective in nature, but there are moments when we desire the ability to truly forget ourselves and this is where love takes wings with kevlar, carbon, and silk that combine to take flight cutting the wind in half. This is where the Calfee canvas comes to life and reveals light, shadow, and near warp speeds!

Strengths:
Comfort, speed, versatility, handling, lightweight.

Weaknesses:
None that i've found, oh, the remote steering is odd looking but works like a charm. It costs money.
