Model Year:

Favorite Ride:
bianchi ev4

Bike Setup:
bianchi ev4 - full record - fizik arione - looks pedal tour de france edition - heart rate monitor computer

Summary:
ive been riding the Ev4 for a year now. I really love it and have great time on it. The only thing is when im riding it really aggressively i really feel the bike cracking. The bike is so Light that is a bit weak when you need the extra power. I weight about 170-175 lbs and i really think about buying a carbon bike instead of the ev4 which is a blend of aluminium, zinc and magnesium. I will keep it for climbing slopes in Vermont but will buy a new carbon or TT bike.

Strengths:
Light, fast and clean

Weaknesses:
cracking

after talking to my bike shop, the cracking stopped after full cleaning and greasing my bike.
I tought a carbon bike would be better, but in fact, it does'nt last as long as that frame.

Bike Setup:

Summary:
This review is of a 2004 Bianchi XL AL EV3. The frame was a warranty replacement for my EV2.

Quite simply, the EV3 is awesome!!! It is more comfortable than the EV2, in that it is able to absorb bumps much more easily, and yet at the same time is much stiffer. You can feel that the energy you expend is being transferred into forward motion, and not lost through frame flex. Some well known frames are stiff and don't absorb road shocks any where near as well as the Bianchi does. That is what I call being properly engineered.

Because the EV3 has sloping geometry, a 55cm like mine has an actual seat tube measurment of 52cm. It looks modern, and it corners and decends as if it were on rails. I kid you not!!!

The full carbon one piece forks are quite simply the best you will find anywhere. They are made from high modulus carbon fibre, are very stiff and very comfortable. When the steerer is cut down, they have a mass of around 360 grams!

I love my Bianchi!!

Strengths:
Lightweight, stiff, ability to absorb road shocks, excellent cornering and decending.

Weaknesses:
none
