Strengths:    Frame is compliant, pretty darn smooth over chatter, realized today I have to re-train myself to relax in stead of hang on tighter.
Looking forward to racing this bike, I think it walks the line between light and too flexy and of course is aero enough.
Decent bike but room for improvements (see below)

Weaknesses:    Frame is compliant, 1st sprints I did from standstill warped the frame and the chain was directed off the front chain ring. BB may be stiff but back end is weak link, in course of all but specific workouts it's been ok. I drop about 1,000 watts for reference (and weigh 155).
Also, the front fork is a wee bit flexy, only notice when climbing and rims/brakes rub, of course not good. For claimed 13.09 weight and all the flex of a bike that weighs that....
Dang thing picks up water in the frame like I can't fathom and you have to tilt it up on end (vertical with front in air) to drain about two cups of water out after a light rain for 2 hours. Will try electrical tape around the seat mast for rainy races.
Flexy as the dickens handlebar (house aerus brand), not exactly reassuring, consider k wing from fsa, remainder of bike set up well. Would buy again, prefer to other options out there so I guess it is a good value and could rate "4" in both below categories if you're feeling generous, I think 3 is a more realistic representation given all the possible improvements.

Bottom Line:
After riding caad offerings 6-9 I tried the ac1 built with red and 404 tubies. It is a decent bike, aero enough, weighs 15.25 with the carbon house brand aereus cages and keo cromo pedals and some selle italia ergo saddle.

Strengths:    -Light
-Comfortable, but not mushy
-Aero frame is noticably faster than anything all other road bikes
-Very Versatile
-Absolutely blazes when the power is put down
-Transfers power really well
-Very Versatile. Meant for road racing, it can handle time trials and shorter distance tri's like a purpose drivin bike
-It is a "the one" road bike for somebody who wants to try it all.

Bottom Line:
I am extremely happy with this bike. It is worth every single penny I put into it.
If you are coming from a triathlon background, I would definatley recommend this bike as it shares a lot of ride qualities to a tri bike, but has the geometry of and is a road bike. If you are looking for a bike to do time trials on or sprint to olympic distance triathlons on, this bike can also tackle them very well. It's an amazing all-around bike that can handle so much very well.
It has a great ride quality to it. The carbon is stiff and transfers power well, but it is not punishing.
The bike's wheelbase tracks surely on those fast descents and hold's it line very well through hard corners.
With all of Blue's research into aero design, they have really produced a top-notch, quality bike. I am very happy with mine as it acclerates very well and is stiff. The aero frame way notiably faster than any other road bike I have ever ridden. My first couple of rides were almost unreal, it was that cool.
Never have had an issue with toe overlap or pedals scraping when pedaling through corners. It's a definate plus when racing.
I would really recommend this bike to anyone who has had some experience riding and is looking for the next step up. Even though it was only $4600 with an Ultegra build, it feels like a $7000 superbike with it's overall ride and performance. The oversized bottom bracket really stiffens things up and the full-carbon fork is comfy and adds to the overall ride quality(and only weighs 380 grams!).
Overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase and look forward to more racing and riding on it for many more years to come!

New Frameset: 2011 Wilier Cento Uno vs. 2011 Blue AC1 vs. 2011 Lapierre Sensium

Background: I've been looking for a new frameset for quite a while, to upgrade to something that is full carbon. I'm currently riding a Scattante XRL aluminum frame with carbon fork. The bike has nice components, however, including full Dura Ace 7800, FSA K-Wing bars, Toupe saddle, Neuvation Wheels ... Read More »
