Price Paid:  $1095.00 at Competitive cyclists

    Model Year:
    2007

    Favorite Ride:
    Paluxy Pedal Glen Rose

    Bike Setup:
Upgraded fork to Easton EC90SLX ( bought for 200.00 new at Nova Cycles). EC 70 Seatpost I need a big offset 25 mm. Mavic Ksyrium SL3 wheeleset,EA70 handlebars, Sram Force everything (crankset Sram Red). Fizik Aliante Carbon. Weight aprox. 16.5 lbs

    Summary:
Very good ride in general. Before this I had a bianchi C2C full carbon. I'm not going back. If I do is the BMC SLC01. Beautiful bike and not very commonly seen at many rides.

    Strengths:
After the upgrades, perfect rides. Til date probably have 1500 mi on this frame. Fast down hill and on flats, uphill good but gravity is not my friend I weigh 198 lbs

    Weaknesses:
If it can be called a weakness, the front brake and the shifter cable hit each other, does not affect on the ride.

    Similar Products Used:
    Bianchi C2C, Giant OCR 2

    Price Paid:  $730.00 at Wholesaler

    Model Year:
    2007

    Favorite Ride:
    The lakes of Minneapolis, MN

    Bike Setup:
    -'07 Blk/Ylw SL01 frameset
-SRAM RED Group w/Force brakes & Cassette
    -Easton EC70 Wing Handlebars
    -Look Keo Carbon SS pedals
-Selle Italia Flite w/Ti rails saddle
-Bontrager Race X Lite seatpost (inf adj)
-Ultegra hub/Mavic OpenPro rim (going to upgrade)
    -Continetal GP 4000 tires
    -Shimano Pro PLT Stem (125g!)
-Bontrager Race XXX lite bottle cage

    Summary:
BMC bikes are as sweet looking as they come and chances are you'll be the only one around riding one. The paint job and welds are clean and precise. The SCC (skeleton cross-lock concept) is as cool looking as it is rigid when riding. The EC90 Unidirectional seatstays offset the fact the frameset comes with an EC70 fork and EA50 seatpost, considering you upgrade the other parts. The ride is VERY comfortable--try riding a full carbon bike and this, and you won't feel a huge difference in retarding vibration. The chainstays are thick and held wide on the bottom bracket which translates to incredible lateral stiffness for acceleration. The frame is relatively light in comparison to other Al/C frames on the market; even if it's a little heavier, it's stiffness proves it's worth it.

    Strengths:
Everything you could look for in an Aluminum/Carbon frame. Also, don't get your hopes up on the price $$$, I got it below cost.

    Weaknesses:
cable routing: Der cable guides are on lower part of head tube, meaning front brake cable near caliper can get kind of hung up; not a big deal, you'll never turn that far when riding, but it's still a "drag" pun intended.
It comes with an EA50 seatpost and an EC70 fork. I can understand not coming with an EC90 SLX fork, but at least spec an EC90, I'd like to keep the fork with the BMC logo on it.
Also, it's not a huge deal because I'd do it on all my bikes, but make sure you face the bottom bracket when you get it.

with Aluminum frame and carbon stays: Trek 2300 (Trek's ZR9000 aluminum is arguably the lightest on the market)
