Solid as a rock, shifts are smooth and brakes are quiet even in hard applications.

You're gonna have to change the saddle.

Bought the bike from Bottechia USA in May,2010, it arrived in beautiful shape.Assembly and set up took about an hour. Minimal adjustsment were needed, wheels spun true, deraileurs needed minor adjustment. Beautiful bike, gets lots of looks. After 600 miles riding in Western New York, I'm going to make a couple of changes. The saddle is brutal...getting a Brooks B-17 over the winter. And the rear cassette is getting changed from the stock 12/25 to an 11/28, the hills around here can be tough. Other than that, I've been very impressed with the ride, and the performance of the bike. I still from time to time break out my trusty 1974 Schwinn Le Tour for some nostalgia rides, but The new bike is great.

Saddle is super uncomfortable (should be first thing to upgrade). Wheels are quite heavy and Cane Creek brakes could be better.

After having had the bike for a year now and training/racing Cat 5 on it this past season, I have been extremely pleased with the bike overall. It is heavier in some places (wheels, handlebars) and skimped on a bit (saddle, brakes) but overall makes for a huge savings in money spent overall. Instead of dropping a house payment or two to buy yourself a really nice carbon fiber bike (which Bottecchia even makes an affordable version of as well), pick this up and train hard, and I promise you and your bike will get a lot of compliments along the way and, with any luck, a pretty good place at the end of the race.
