Strengths: Responsive, attractive, quite light, the campy group on my setup was very enjoyable. I liked being able to click thru the gears with one push (instead of the click click click you have to do with Shimano).Weaknesses: It has such nice lines people want to steal it.Bottom Line: Spent a year or more looking for my new ride, jumped on the Pine Grove and loved it immediately. My local shop tricked it out with Campy Veloce, Mavic Mxp22 wheelset and, since I ride with my daughter who rides a triple, I spliced the cassette with an 11-29, and had supreme hill climbing ease. Loved everything about this bike and got compliments on it all the time. Unfortunately it was stolen few weeks ago, which really surprised me since it was high vis yellow - had my eye off it for about 2 minutes. Had 8 thousand joyful miles on this one, and the day I lost it still looked brand new, and the campy still performed like the day I bought it.
Favorite Ride: Burley Pine Grove
Price Paid:
$1800.00
Purchased At: Baer Wheels, Columbu
Similar Products Used: This was my first really nice road bike but I also own several mtn bikes; a ritchey with XT, Fuji (DX) and a Rocky Mtn (DX). Currently riding a Windsor Falkirk carbon with mixed components.
Bike Setup: 56 frame (perfect for 5'11"), campy veloce, Mavic CXP22 wheelset, carbon fork, hybrid cassette. Vittorio tires (170psi, though I rode them at 120).
