Bike Setup: Super Record 11 Group, Shamal Ultra 2 Way and 3T cockpit, Look Carbon/Ti.
Summary: 2009 Beautiful CX-1 frame. Sexy Italian bike as my friends would say. Loved it until the problems amplified. Lots of mechanical repairs...besides the normal "break-in" adjustments. Chipped frame explained as "typical for custom paint". Cracked paint and cracked clear coat on head tube a mystery. Never a crash. Tough to get a cost effective response from Colnago America. Mechanical adjustments are to be expected. Frame issues could be addressed if you have a proactive LBS. Buy only from a trusted LBS. Use Jagwire, K-Edge and Lizard Skins to protect the frame.
Strengths: Beautiful bike. History. Sexy look. Fast, stiff yet compliant. A sports car like feel...nimble. A WOW from bike friends.
Weaknesses: Fragile...cracked paint on head tube, top tube and chain stay with less than 600 crash free miles. Service from internet distributor and manfacturer.

Bike Setup: SRAM Red Levers & rear der, Dura-ace cracks, BB, brakes, Zipp 404 Tubs, San Marco Zoncolan Saddle, deda stem, FSA bars
Summary: Crashed my Colnago Cristallo, and was fortunate enough to get the CX-1 - this is a beautiful bike, great finish, fantastic ride, very stiff, and looks great - may not be the lightest bike around - but easier to eat less cakes, and do a few miles, easily the best bike I have ever ridden - changed to SRAM red - great shifting !
Strengths: Stiff, great geometry (as with all Colnago's), very comfortable, great finish
Weaknesses: Keeping a white bike clean

Bike Setup: SRAM Red shifters, fd, rd; Easton EC90 cranks, ec70 wing handlebar, ea90 stem, ec90 seatpost, EC90 Aero tubular wheels, Look Keo ti carbon pedals, etc.
Summary: Light and stiff. I bought the frame and built it up. Not quite as light as my SL2 but damn it's just so much prettier (imho). This bike does everything well, climb, sprint and look good. Internet photos doesn't do it any justice at all. Like I said, I just got the frame. The only negative thing about this bike is the wait. I ordered the frame back in August of last year and I just got it a couple of days ago. That's about 6 months and 6 days of waiting. I'm glad I had the patience--it was well worth the wait.
Strengths: Beautiful craftmanship, yes made in Taiwan, but that shouldn't be a detractor. The frame is well made and did I say it's beautiful? Stiff with beefy seatstays, chainstay and bb.
Weaknesses: None so far.

Bike Setup: Mostly DuraAce 9sp. Zipp B2 bars, Ritchey Carbon WCS post(OS) Fizsik Arione saddle, Zipp 303 or Reynolds MV carbon tubular with Conti or Vittoria tires. I am 6', at about 165lbs and am short-legged, long torsoed. Mine is a 54 and fits perfect. I ride a Medium Ridley and an XL Look 585, so go figure.
Summary: Said to be a revolutionary Colnago developed at the request of the Pro racers. Meant to embrace the modern ideas for bike construction. The main triangle is monocoque (molded) with the rear triangle (a seperate mold) attached. The frame member sections are not shaped much like any 'traditional' Colnago. Large diameter roughly octagonal 'tubes' compose the main trianle while the rear and the fork legs are quite substantial in cross section. Sloping geometry, massive BB junction and titanium inserts in high stress (BB, Headtube, seat tube) area should make this a very durable racebike.
Strengths: Superior all around handling, like is expected from Colnago. Very solid feeling. Excellent finish. Quite light feeling, but not flimsey.
Weaknesses: Pricey. Long wait time for this one.
