Favorite Ride:
Mt Pirongia, in the Waikato (long ride - take food!)

Summary:
I was a little surprised when they released this bike. I'd never really thought that Diamond Back were a serious player, and certainly not at this price point. The Podium pro has really exceed expectations. It's got quite a short wheelbase, accelerates quickly and certainly gives a few surprises to fellow riders. There is a lot of moulding over gussets in the frame that seemed to look like it was just making it different for it's own sake. When playing with friends downhill at high speeds, it seems it really does have a point. The only way they're able to keep up when I'm coasting has been for them to start pedalling. Very happy with the campagnolo 10sp drive train. I guess campagnolo is somewhat famous for 'wearing in when shimano is wearing out', but the gear hasn't shown any signs of deterioration while it's been in use. The Vento wheels have been a great choice - they're not super light (1915g) but really a solid set of wheels - and have remained true for the life of the bike. Carbon's ability to have you ride all day and leave you feeling fresh is legendary, and this bike makes this very clear - it makes 100 miles feel like 30 miles!

Strengths:
Short wheel base
Great for climbing
Cool aero frame
Campagnolo 10sp Centaur components
Good solid wheels

Weaknesses:
Wheels are a little on the heavy side
Diamond Back (or DBR -> Diamond back racing) don't have kudos of italian frame builders
