Price Paid:  $2200.00 at Bike Shop

Favorite Ride:
The ones without cars

Summary:
I was looking for a solid bike to train on for mtb racing and found what I was looking for. Got a great deal on an 2008 Z25. It is light and doesn't give me a backache after long rides. The downside is that the clear coat on the frame is soft. So it scratches very easily. At 200 plus #'s it feels stable.

Strengths:
Light and good fit. The price was right.

Weaknesses:
Cheap saddle. Soft clear coat is susceptible to dings and scratches.

Price Paid:  $3400.00 at LBS

Model Year:
2007

Favorite Ride:
New England in October

Bike Setup:
UHM Carbon Frame, High Mod Carbon Fork, Mavic Ksyrium Equipe Wheels, SRAM Red Front/Rear Deraillers, 34/50 Compact Double, Felt Seat, Seatpost, Handlebars.

Summary:
What an awesome ride. I can't say enough about this bike. It's an incredible setup for something in the low-mid 3000's. Any other SRAM Red bike that I've seen in 2009 has easily been $1000 more than this. For some brands, you can't find a Full Red/Dura Ace Bike for much less than 5 grand.

The bike is stiff but comfortable and soaks up the road noise well. I love the compact gearing for acceleration and climbing in a high cadence. The SRAM Red shifters take a few rides to get used to, but are incredibly smooth and quick.

I think that in 2009 you'll be hard-pressed to find a better value bike. Top of the line frame materials, full Ultra High Modulus Carbon, top end SRAM red Gruppo. Additionally, most of the other components are pretty good, although not top-end.

Total, my setup is right at 18lbs with water bottle cages, bag pouch w/multi tool/tire, mini-pump and computer. I did a lot of research and I don't think you can find anything close to this setup for a comparable price from a major manufacturer in 2009.

Strengths:
Climbing, acceleration, handling, comfort, fit on long rides.

Frame is top of the line, Full SRAM Red Shifters.

Weaknesses:
Crank and Wheels could be better, but you gotta save somewhere to keep this bike's price down. Can also replace later on since the frame and shifters are top notch.
