Price Paid:  $700.00 at E-bay

Model Year:
2007

Favorite Ride:
Baumholder triathlon loop

Bike Setup:
Stock except for Bontrager carbon stem (team edition) and Bontrager carbon race lite water bottle cages (lite blue matches the bike pretty good)

Summary:
First ride wasn't as great as i'd hope didn't seem that fast until the guys i ride with stopped taking turns setting the pace then i new i had picked up the pace a bit and afterwards i wasn't as sore as usual. I'll get plenty of miles in while the weather holds and this winter with upgrades get the weight down

Strengths:
Comfortable ride good shifting and braking

Weaknesses:
On the heavy side(for now),me too (for now)

Similar Products Used:
I own 2 Gary Fisher mountain bikes and rode a vintage Fuji S-12 road bike

Price Paid:  $0.00

2007

Summary:
again, this is a 2009 model.

amazing bike for the price. same price, but better spec than the 'rival' Trek (considering the GF is basically a trek :)

Strengths:
105 rear shifter.
tiagra for this price.
rigid

Weaknesses:
slightly bumpy ride. could do with changing seat

Price Paid:  $950.00 at CT LBS

Model Year:
2007

Favorite Ride:
Gary Fisher AR Super

Bike Setup:
All stock, Crank Bros. Mallet 1 pedals

Summary:
I spent a lot of time searching for a new road bike. Visisted several shops, looked at offerings from all the top brands. This was the cheapest Tiagra Level bike from a major manufacturer out there. The price was right, and it rides like a charm.

Strengths:
CF seatpost, CF fork, speed trap mount, great paint job, Decent wheel set, tiagra sti shifters, 105 rear derailler, awesome price.

Weaknesses:
Aluminum stays, even with the CF fork and seat post the ride is still pretty bumpy. Speed trap mount is great, but the speed trap computers are horrribly expensive. I ended up mounting a cheapo wired cycle computer because I couldn't justify 125 bucks for the wireless one.

Price Paid:  $950.00 at LBS

Model Year:
2007

Favorite Ride:
Anywhere

Bike Setup:
Stock except a Fizik Aliante saddle, black bar tape, and the pedals.

Summary:
As the other reveiwer stated, there no option to select 2009 for the year.

I was in the market for a beginner road bike and after looking at a few models I narrowed it down to the Trek 1.5 and the AR Super. The slightly better components, better price, and slightly better fit sold me on the GF.
It'll be fine until I'm ready to step up to the next level.

Strengths:
Pretty decent components given the price. The specs on the web site say otherwise, but mine came with a 105 rear derailleur.
It rides really well. I've only put about 500 miles on it so far though.

Weaknesses:
My only gripe is the color scheme. The silver graphics, white saddle, and white bar tape gave me horrible flashbacks of when my mom made me wear white loafers, blue slacks, white belt, and a polka dotted tie for my first communion in 1975!
Anyway, I do like the blue color.

Price Paid:  $1100.00 at Trek Store of Kansas

Model Year:
2007

Favorite Ride:
Gary Fisher AR Super

Summary:
It is a 2009 bike, but there is no option for that above. I love this bike. It has great components for the price.

Strengths:
Great components, looks cool, works great. Great bang for buck

Weaknesses:
It is branded Gary Fisher which doesn't exactly scream Road Bike.
