at Lynskey Direct Favorite Ride: My Lynskey R230 Bike Setup: Full Ultegra 6700. Fulcrum Racing 3's, Ritchey bars and stem, Chris King headset, Selle Italia SLK, Lynskey Ti Stem Summary: Just made the switch to Lyskey R230 Ti and Wow. I am so impressed. I have ridden all types of frames and researched this purchase heavily. This bike is a work of art and a bike to last a lifetime. I do a lot of metric Centuries in the Ozark Mountains and this bike loves to climb. It accelerates instantly and stays controlled and fast on the downhill. Lynskey Ti is a cut above and you can go direct to purchase. I dealt with Don Erwin and their builder and was treated like a King. These guys even made a Youtube video presenting me with the bike before it shipped. The welds and workmanship are flawless. This bike feels and flies like carbon fiber with the comfort and durability of steel. I get attention from everyone when I show up with this bike. This may be one of the best puchases I have ever made. It aint cheep but it is worth it. For the first time I can ride a Century in comfort and stay with my carbon fiber friends. I would reccomend this premium quality Lynskey Ti ride to anyone. Oh and get the brushed finish and etched logo's. It screams Ti the second you see it. Strengths: Quality of build, loves to climb and accelerate, light, stiff, comfortable and durable, great company to deal with Weaknesses: they are not cheap but the guys at Lynskey will work hard to get you in a Ti bike Similar Products Used: Lightspeed
Moots
various CF bikes

Price Paid:
$0.00 Model Year: 2007 Summary: Purchased the Lynskey R230 as my long distance bike. I wanted something that would be comfy on longer rides, but would still be zippy enough to keep a good tempo. I upgraded the Alpha fork to the full carbon steerer model. Strengths: The frame seems to be built very well. Welds are smooth and "artfull" to look at. Although the welds dont even compare to those on the Seven or Merlin models, the pricepoint is much less. The bike handles extremely well and is very compliant. Cornering, acceleration, and out of the saddle feel are excellent. I would recomend this bike to anyone!!! The bike is comfortable enough for double centuries, and is fast enough for racing. Weaknesses: none yet

at Lynskey Perfomance Model Year: 2007 Favorite Ride: Anywhere NW of Madison Bike Setup: Dura-ace crank, ceramic DA bottom bracket(buttery smooth), Ultegra shifters/brakes, SL derailleurs, Ritchey WCS wheels, Campy record headset, Alpha Q fork Summary: I ride mostly chipsealed roads and this bike is smoother than anything I've ridden so far. The chipseal feels like smooth blacktop, its just that unreal. Unlike carbon this bike has a great feel to the road (doesn't feel dull with acceleration) and still dampers the bumps. When you push down on the pedals it goes...stiff but comfortable. This bike also corners better than any I've ever ridden. It handles exceptionally well in corners, up climbs and descends like a dream Strengths: Looks, light weight, stiff but not rough, handling, corners well, climbs well, comfortable fit, durability of frame. Much cheaper than a litespeed or any other comparable titanium frame and lighter weight too! Weaknesses: None so far....still working on fit and adjusting fit (due to going from compact to semi-compact geometry). Emailed the company for fitting assistance, no reply, despite being told questions would be answered when I purchased it b/c I was between sizes. at George's Bike Setup: mavic open pros, ritchey wcs fork, dura-ace 9spd, fizik saddle, ritchey stem and handlebar. Summary: Squirrely handling in corners, especially downhill, spoils a fairly nice ride. Accelerates fine, but wouldn't use this in a crit. Strengths: seems to climb well, gets lots of looks from others Weaknesses: Front wheel wobble, unsure handling downhill in general. Not as smooth as carbon fiber. Kind of odd sizing given the slightly steeper head tube. Similar Products Used: Lemond Alp D'Huez, Lemond Zurich, Calfee Luna Pro

at Lynskey Model Year: 2007 Favorite Ride: Anything in the sunshine Bike Setup: Sram Rival, Lynskey Ti post (really nice), White Ind hubs with IRD rims Summary: R230 Ti frame with SRAM Rival group. I added a set of wheels (White hubs with IRD rims)to replace the Fulcrum racing that came with the bike. I always wanted a Ti bike but thought the price was out of my reach. Lynskey had a sell on this frame/group which made the purchase much easier than expected. I needed help with sizing which they helped tremendously. The bike feels better than anything I have been on. I never really thought geometery of a centimeter here/there could be that much difference, but it made the comfort for me. It is light, nimble and an excellent climber. The craftmanship is simply better than anything I have used (welds are sweet and brushed finish is perfect). Customer service is really easy to deal with. I added a brushed finish with custom etching which they handled really well. The bike attracts attention. Strengths: Quality, appearance & road manners sums it nicely. My first ride was only about 5 miles and in the dark, but the quick impression was this bike is quick. 200 miles latter and I still have that same feeling. The bike really responds to my riding style (no racing, just good, quick rides). Climbs really well out of the saddle - no flex like the carbon fiber I replaced. Very comfortable on 2 hour rides (the longest to date). Price is relative, but for the money, I do not think it could be duplicated. Very smooth ride. The Lynskey team certainly takes pride in the production of there products, it shows. Weaknesses: None yet. Similar Products Used: Fuji carbon fiber, Trek 430 (old, but pretty good bike), and on the trail, Fat Chance & Vassago
