It can be had for little money. If you just want a commuter, it's good. But if you plan to actually cycle a lot, keep looking for a better bike.

I ran into issues with bottom bracket cable guide. The steel cable digs into the AL. Also the welding around the seatube and bottom bracket is so bad it affects the ability of the FD to shift smoothly. Forget trim, won't work properly. It's advertised as having tapered headtube, it's not, it's 1 1/8 all the way through. The downtube is not oversized. The power transfer is poor. It's not an aggressive geometry, it's more endurance/sport. Almost nothing Masi describes their Performance AL bikes as is not true. If you have a choice between Allez and Partenza, get the Allez.

Looks and Namesake

Poor components even for price. Poor workmanship and design. Very unstable frame.

I purchased this bike from a LBS that stated it was manufactured by Haro. I assumed quality would be good along with durability. I only have 2-3,000 miles on the bicycle and my bottom bracket it going out. The frame rocks and flexes a great deal when trying to sprint or climb. The bike has a startlingly rough ride when compared to slightly more expensive entry level road bikes. Like the previous post I also found that my STEEL shifter cables run through a non-sleeved or bushed pivot point on the ALUMINUM bottom bracket. The bike is rather heavy for an entry level bicycle also. The stock wheel set is extremely heavy and also flexes enough to cause the rim to rub the brake pads under heavy sprints or hard climbs.

I was attracted to this bike because of the paint and curved seat stays. At first the bike was comfortable and a joy to ride, but not for long. At about 500 miles I noticed the front derailleur was getting harder and harder to shift. I looked at the cable guide on the bottom bracket shell and the cables had dug into the bottom bracket shell. Turns out the 'brilliant' minds, and I use that term loosely, decided that they would make the only aluminum frame on the market that would not use a plastic cable guide on the bottom bracket shell. It has been more than a month since my shop contacted Haro (company that owns Masi) about the frame and all they have suggested is that I run a cable sleeve. That was the first thing I tried after noticing the problem and it didn't work at all. Not to mention the damage has cause structural damage to one of the highest stress points on the frame, so it needs to be replaced. They still haven't offered a replacement.
Oh, and btw, I've ridden steel bikes that were laterally stiffer, only good for less than 500 miles of recreational riding.
