Bike Setup: Chris King headset, Topolino carbon core wheels, Thomson seatpost, and flite ti gel flow saddle.
Summary: The review is for the 2009 Cielo which has a CF top tube section and CF down tube section. This bike was warranty replacement/upgrade of a 1996 Merlin Extralight, which developed a crack originating at the seat tube bottom bracket joint on the crank side and the crack moved up and aft 1/4 way around the seat tube. Compared to the extralight the ride is smoother on uneven surfaces, and the bottom bracket is stiffer, probably due to the 1 1/8" tubes vs the 1" tubes used on the '96 extralight. Customer service from Merlin (American Bicycle Group) was excellent, from the time I contacted Merlin to the time I was riding the "replacement" the whole process was 2 1/2 weeks.
Strengths: Great ride, dampens uneven surfaces, stiff bottom bracket, climbs excellently, super looking welds, and beautiful frame. Great warranty (life time warranty to original purchaser) and customer service.
Weaknesses: None........other than price

Bike Setup: Dura-Ace 10, Mavic ssl/sc wheels, carbon bar, stem, seatpost, Aspide saddle, Continental tires.
Summary: It bogles my mind that few people seem to ride this bike. I guess it is the price. The Cielo is the finest riding bike I have ever ridden. Fast, comfortable, predictable, precise...and georgeous.
Strengths: Beautiful frame, incredible workmanship. Fast and stable.
Weaknesses: Honestly can't think of any. Perhaps cost, but this level of quality cannot be cheap.
