Strengths:    Stiff, compliant, light, nice finish

Weaknesses:    Not as light as a $4000 bike (because it's not $4000!)

    Bottom Line:
Wow. I sold a Waterford 753 and a Colnago EL-OS a few years ago during a divorce. After the dust settled, I wanted something to ride again, and found a Motobecane Immortal with full Ultegra on Craigs List. The guy was sized wrong and the bike fit him horribly, so....
What an amazing bike for the price. The Ultegra works fine. The bike is responsive, stable at speed (mtns of colorado speed), extremely stiff in the bottom bracket for a 62cm (I'm 180lbs), and compliant like my old steel frames were. I think it's around 18lbs with a set of mavic training wheels. I couldn't be happier with the bike. It also doesn't make road noise like some carbon framed bikes. Looking at the shape, I'm guessing this is an older trek OCLV frame just simply with (possibly) newer carbon technology. It looks very similar to early 2000's Treks. Not that it's bad or good. Just saying

Strengths:    Smooth, stiff, light and fast!

Weaknesses:    Besides the Aksium wheels it came with (heavy)...None!

    Bottom Line:
Like the previous guy, arrived quickly and had it set up in 1/2 hour. Full Ultegra with FSA carbon cranks and post. Very nice set up. I race mostly mountain bikes and a couple road races for fun and did real well on this bike. Got this bike mainly to train on but it just rides so damn nice. Nice geometry which is on the more aggressive side, which fits me perfect. The only thing I changed were the wheels...from Mavic Aksium to Mavic Kysrium and what a huge difference. It rode very good before and now it's even much better!

Strengths:    Light, strong yet smooth, every ounce of effort is transferred to speed.

Weaknesses:    None found yet, it is my 1st true road bike. Will let ya know if one comes up.

    Bottom Line:
Bike arrived on time from UPS and was so easy to set up, it took me less than 30 minutes to give it a test ride.(ha ha) I have been breaking down bikes to bearing for 30+ years. Bike is the bomb. 1st road bike I've owned, ridden mtb's for 26 yrs-the trials of Santa Cruz mts and Mt Diablo. Started riding the road up Diablo 7/8 yrs ago- got slicks for my mtb, but.... Finally made the plunge for a real road bike, read everything on the net, went w/the Immortal Ice, would have settled for the Force but sold out. Glad I paid 200 more, the frame looks great - understated elegance! I can't believe how easy it is to go fast on this thing. Dropped almost 8 lbs upgrading to it and I can feel the difference. If you know bikes this is the best value on the market.

    Strengths:    Value, ride feel.

    Weaknesses:    Seatpost, brakes.

    Bottom Line:
My bike is the 2010. I wanted a full carbon ride for centuries and other long distance rides. I love the bike. Its stable, fast and light. Climbs very well and is a comfortable long distance ride. Wanted a Cannondale Synapse but not ready to plunk down 3600$. Its not as plush as the Synapse, but not 2000$ worth of difference. Easy to set up out of the box, I would absolutely buy one again. Only change was to Speedplay pedals.

Strengths:    2010 Ultegra, full carbon frame and fork, best price on the market.

Weaknesses:    Carbon wrap seatpost - put my full carbon post on as soon as I got home.

    Bottom Line:
Mine is actually the 2010 model. I have been riding it for just over a month and love it. I have the 2010 Ultegra brake levers/shifters, front and rear derailours, cassette, and chain, FSA SL-K Light compact double cranks, and the envy of the other riders on an annual Thanksgiving day ride. This bike rides smooth on the flats, down hills, and climbs great. After 30 miles in a group ride I still had enough leg left to break away for the last five miles and carry myself at over 21 MPH with a head-wind. LOVE THIS BIKE!!!
