Probably not the bike for the big guys--Go for the Big Leg Emma, which is built of stouter stuff.Bottom Line: Wow, what a bike. I have ridden a number of nice bikes but this one is truly amazing. I don't even believe I just wrote that but it is true.
The bike's ride is every thing I love about a good steal frame: smooth yet responsive and lively. I find myself spinning more on this bike and riding smoother.
It descends predictably and precisely and climbs incredibly well. In a way if reminds me of my Gios with its short rear triangle and short top tube, only it is much lighter and more lively.
I am really impressed with the Pegoretti's and I am thinking of getting another one of his steal frames like the Marcello or Duende. It is funny, but Bevon, the guy who sold me the frame, said before I bought it that he gets more "follow up" raves about the Pegoretti's than any other fame he sells and that people who buy a pergoretti tend to buy another one
So what happens? On my second ride (had to make sure what I was feeling was real and not "new bike" euphoria) I am calling him on my cell phone while climbing a hill raving to him about the bike. And now, much to my surprise, I find myself wanting another one!
Rereading this I realize the only other bike that got me this way was my RB-1 back in 1990. The Ritchey Logic I have is really great but there is just something about this pretty yellow bike.
