Product Description

Piet Mondrian (1872-1944) was a famous Dutch painter and was one of the principal characters in an art movement called De Stijl (“the Style” in Dutch) also known as Neoplasticism. Neoplastiscm seeks to ignore the natural forms and colours of objects, and finds their expression in an abstractive composition that uses predominantly primary colours in square, rectangle and straight lines.

Throughout the painter’s career, evolution was a norm. Line thickness, line colour, line extension, double line, number of squares, and even brush strokes were all seen to have evolved in his works. His latest works in New York even presented a revolutionary change in his painting style.

Rikulau’s Mondrian Composition design is an attempt by our artist to apply Mondrian’s design elements, namely lines and coloured rectangles, on bicycle frame graphics, with some of our very own modifications, of course. We are well aware of the tremendous gap between our design and the great artist’s works, and we don’t dare to make comparisons. But, hopefully, the artist’s name is not shamed by our design. ?
