at NeboRidge Model Year: 2007 Favorite Ride: Hilly Hundred Bike Setup: Shimano 105 components
Shimano crank set
Mavic aksium wheels Summary: This bike is smooth on bumps, hills, and cornering. I raced my CR1 Team bike after only one 30 mile training shake down, and the bike actually seemed to get better and better as the race went on. The bike just wants to glide up climbs, and handles well in the pack. Great ride Strengths: Light, stiff, responsive to your effort, smooth on the road Weaknesses: None so far

at Bicycle Pro Shop Model Year: 2007 Favorite Ride: Road Summary: I just purchased a 2008 Scott CR1, (not 2007) 58 cm - I'm 6' 1 1/2" and this fits me perfectly, with a shorter 110 mm FSA OS 115 stem. I had it refitted from the stock Ultegra to Campy Centaur. With Keo pedals it wieghs in at 17 lbs 8 oz, total. I ride most every day, though I do not race. This is a phenomenal bike; it is quite stiff and therefore very fast and responsive. It wants to climb and go; for me, it has a nicer road feel than the 2008 Cannondale SuperSix that I demo'd as a comparison, or the Orbea Onix. Just super fun to ride, easy to put into a corner and crank. If you aren't hung up on Campy vs. Shimano like I am (I just like the feel and reliability of Campy and have been riding it for 25 years, way back when I started with Nuovo Record...), the Scott CR1 Team with Ultegra is a great deal -you should be able to find someone to sell a 2008 for around $2500 or so. Really, really like this bike although, admitedly, I have only had it for a bit over a month.

at eBay mostly Model Year: 2005 Favorite Ride: Any Bike Setup: 2005 XL (58cm) Scott CR1 PRO frameset, 2007 Mavic Ksyrium SL w/ceramic bearings or 2006 Zipp 404 tubulars, complete Shimano DA10 gruppo; 53/38 175mm cranks, brake calipers shifter/brake levers, derailleurs, DA 11-23 or Sram Force 11-28 cassette, FSA ceramic BB, Ritchey WCS carbon post & 130mm WCS alloy stem, 44cm Felt carbon wing bar, Fizik Microtex tape, Jagwire race cables, Fizik Arione Carbon, Look Keo Carbon, Conti Competition Tubulars or Michelin ProRace3, Elite carbon cages, Garmin Edge 205. 16.3lbs complete for a 58 w/Mavics, 15.95 w/Zipps!!! Summary: Just an excellent all-around bike. Very comfortable in all types of riding. The only way I'd change is to go to the Addict. But that's a lot of money for the same geometry and ride feel. Addict is lighter, but it's cheaper for me to lose a pound than spend $6K+. Strengths: Climbing! sprinting, cruising, descending, crits, road races, tracks perfectly. Super light & responsive. Stiff out of the saddle or in the drops for sprints. I'm 6'2", 165lbs and there is no flex. Quiet and smooth, no creaking or chatter after nearly 9000 miles. Weaknesses: Non-replaceable derailleur hangar. at Bike Warrior - Tarza Model Year: 2007 Favorite Ride: Solvang area Bike Setup: 2007 Scott CR1, Real Design Ultrasphere wheels, Dura Ace front and rear derailleur and chain, 105 brakes, look keo carbon pedals, ritchey pro stem and handle bar, conti grand prix 4000 tires. Summary: I love this bike. I purchased the 2007 CR1 Team CD (compact drive) spec'd with 105 components, and Mavic Aksium wheelset. First of all the wheels are super heavy, switched them out to a set of Real Design Ultrasphere's. I upgraded front and rear derailleur's and chain to Dura Ace. I also swapped out Ritchey stem for lighter Ritchey WCS 4 axis stem, and seat to a Specialized Toupe gel. This bike is unreal.... Super fast, very stiff due to oversized down tube but comfortable on longer rides also. Just did Solvang prelude over the weekend, did the 64 mile route and bike rode like a dream. Scott has priced these bikes very well, especially if your looking for a great frame with decent specs you can upgrade later. A lot of other company's (i.e. Specialized) downgrade the carbon they use to build frames on their cheaper bikes, but I wanted a light frameset. I love this bike, highley recommend it. Strengths: Very fast due to stiffness, and still super comfortable. When you stand up and pedal bike takes off, it is rocket. Weaknesses: NONE Similar Products Used: Specialized Roubaix 105 group.....

at Williamson's Bike Sh Model Year: 2006 Favorite Ride: Any road west of Madison, WI Bike Setup: Ultegra Compact, Mavic Elite Wheels, Selle Flite Gel saddle, Ritchy Pro Bars, WCS Stem, Look Keo Sprint Pedals, Michelin Pro2 tires Summary: This is an amazing ride! Have about 1500 miles to date. Switch to carbon from aluminum more than expected. Comfortable for long rides, smooth on rough roads, fast on climbs and faster on flats, responsive in and out of saddle, stable on downhills. Did I say it climbs easily? Makes it easier to keep up with some of the younger guys I ride with. Do not feel beat up after long ride.
Upgraded to Ultegra compact crank from a triple on previous bike. No regrets and actually rides faster/easier.
Has a little road feel to it. Road bumps are not completely dampened. But they are smoothed out very nicely. Have 2007 Ksyrium Elites black rims. Stiff ride. Harsh ride at first with Conti stock tires. Switched to Pro2 tires which also smoothed ride. Now the bike has a PERFECT RIDE. Strengths: Shock absorbing, stiff when needed, compliant when necessary, light, great looking bike. Does not shimmer on fast downhills. Been up to 48mph. Carves like a dream. Weaknesses: None. Similar Products Used: Test road the new TREK Madone 5200. While it was a nice ride, smooth and compliant, stable, it also felt sluggish. CR1 has a much quicker, responsive acceleration.
TREK 1220 Aluminum.
