Strengths:    ride comfort
performance and speed
frame

Weaknesses:    the white color of the tape in the handle bars and the seat. it is getting grey already...

Bottom Line:
this is a solid carbon bike for anyone looking for performance and confort. the bike comes with 105 which is "the compromise" as long as you dont mind 1/2 extra lbs when compared to dura-ace or ultegra.
i ride 30-40 miles @18-21mph 6xweek and i am 215lbs 5'11", been riding on and off for since i am 15yo.bike rides great! and it puts the power down nicely while climbing & absorbs the road imperfections great if you ride at 100psi. 110+ you will feel the difference and the ride is a little more harsh.
i will suggest this bike for someone that is looking to upgrade into carbon at a decent price. the bike originally costs 1900 depending where you get it at.
the 105 is a solid performer and the frame is great. take intoconsideration this is the same frame they use for all the line of CR1, the only difference are the components.
the wheels are solid and in miami streets which are full of holes they are still true after 300+ miles.
i will keep this one for a while and with time upgrade the components to ultegra or duraace, since the frame is a great starting point to build around it.
if you want a good carbon bike with the potential for upgrades, for a decent price go for it, you wont regret it!

Strengths:    - Still, yet comfy
- tight cornering
- Love the matte black badass finish

Weaknesses:    - None for me. Ths is a great all-around bike. Has enough comfort for Century plus, with enough stiffness for crits. The price point is a nice value

Bottom Line:
Nice compromise between comfort and stiffness. Great power transfer and stiffness when sprinting or stomping hard up hills. I upgraded the wheels to Hed6 and swapped out the cheap saddle. Love it!

Strengths:    super light, super quick, great handling, great looking, great price

Weaknesses:    none

Bottom Line:
I purchased this bike from a lady on CL selling off her ex-husbands stuff still at her home. This is like new, probably less than 200 miles put on it.

I have put just under a 100 miles on it now in only a few days, would have put more but our weather has been too poor to ride. I look forward to the next good day to ride.

Of the five bikes I own right now this one is my favorite, and probably a all time favorite. Im going to sell at least two of my older bikes, due to the awesomeness of this Scott they will be forced out of rotation. This is one bike that I don't feel the need to upgrade anything anytime soon.

Strengths:    The strengths are the handling this bike loves to ride and makes you want to ride it loves technical riding eg descending and translates the power you put into it. It is a joy to ride and gives you that real buzz that riding can give you. I was inspired reading the other users of this frame and their comments to add my 2 cents worth simply as I love this bike and feel very lucky to have it. Gives you that feeling of confidence and that you want to keep riding it.

Weaknesses:    The only weakness with the bike was not the frame but the stock saddle and cockpit. They were ok but I bought it as a mid range bike so this is ok and would rather do it up to my liking. The 105 grouppo is ok but a little sloppy with the sti gears. I might put ultegra on eventually. The biggest improvement was putting the dura chain the bike felt transformed but these are only minor issues the frame is awesome.

Bottom Line:
Having read these reviews really reminded me of the feeling i get with Scott cr1 and just how lucky we are to have a frame of this quality. It really wants to go you have to be careful descending cause this bike loves it and wants to keep going and is so solid and reassuring you want to go with it next thing you realize you are doing 80 kilometers an hour and feel absolutely confident. The cornering is incredible I have to be careful jumping on another bike as they don't corner as efficiently. The Scott feels like you can corner on a dollar coin. It seems to take the rattle out of the road surface but still give you feeling for the road. I bought the team with 105 and askiums but have changed the chain to a 7900 dura put gators on it changed the stem and bars and also the saddle. It feels incredible and for the modest amount of money is a great bike. I can see why the Scott cr1 has such a great reputation even after all these years it is still a highly regarded frame and used by pro riders everywhere. I read this review a couple of years ago before I bought the bike and it had a big influence on me getting it just want to say these guys and girls are right this frame is awesome and anyone like me who is thinking about getting a quality bike but doesnt have 10000 for a cervelo or sworks can be assured that this is an awesome bargain. This used to be a 2 grand frame used in the tour de france and has won the giro de italia it really does give you the ride of a top bike. I am like these other dudes here blown away by it I am not a Scott rep or anything so I really recommend it you wont be disappointed.

Price Paid:    $2500.00

Purchased At:   dericos bike shop

Similar Products Used:   Bianchi Trek Cannondale Specialised [all great bikes to ride]

Bike Setup:   As mentioned upgraded the chain to dura changed the saddle to sella italia, put conti gator tyres on changed the stem and bars during a fitting, the stock stem is very long. I will eventually upgrade 105 to ultegra or dura depending how rich i am and hope to put some decent wheels on one day but askiums are good trainers and very durable. I am a swimmer so I may use it in some tris would love some zipps but a bit to pricey for me

Strengths:    Light weight, stiffness, power transfer, blinding acceleration, ability to hold speed.

Weaknesses:    Non replaceable rear derailleur hanger.

Bottom Line:
I purchased this 2005 Scott cr1 saunier-duvall team edition frame off of bay. I had been riding a Bianchi stell bike for years and demoed a carbon fiber bike at the lbs and I was blown away by the feel. I didn't have a lot of money to spend so I did some research and it led me to the Scott cr1...and I have to say wow!

The bike is super light...almost unbelievable...even with a mid grade build. I received the frame and spent a day building it up. I spent another day dialing it in then it was time for the shakedown run.

I have a favorite training route I use here near the house. It is a 10 mile out and back route that has a couple very steep short climbs and a mile long monster climb as well as some long flats. It is lined with trees so there is rarely any wind to contend with...and It is the ride I use to gauge my training efforts as well as fit experiments. I've ridden it a hundred plus times so I'm very familiar with it.

After a brief warm up I set off. The first climb is 1/4mile very steep climb that on my bianchi I could only manage a blistering pace of 8mph and I was still dying by the top. The first thing I noticed about the cr1 was that every watt I was putting down was translated to forward motion. I also noticed that I could coast for a second and the bike would hold it's speed! I was happy looking down at the speed at the top of the hill to see 12.5 mph...and I still had some leg left to stand and sprint over the top!

The next section was a 3 mile stretch of flat road. I stood up and the bike immediately jumped right up to 20mph which was my average over this stretch on my bianchi. The Scott didn't let me settle there...it easily accelerated up to 22 then 25 then 28mph which is where I found my rythmn. I was smiling ear to ear holding the pace there for three miles...at about 80% max...simply amazing!

There was a downhill section where I usually can hit 35mph but the Scott really showed it had the good stuff when I hit 45 mph and it was rock solid stable. There is a real tight corner near the bottom and on the bianchi I found myself hitting the brakes hard for it taking the corner at about 23mph...the Scott felt super stable so I was able to take the corner at 35...it held solid and wanted more. What a simply amazing bike!
