Strengths: Light, stable, towes wellWeaknesses: ShiftingBottom Line: I'm a past mountain biker turned road rider this year. I found a barely used '06 S50 and took a chance. After a good tune up at the shop I am very pleased with this bike. Shifting has been a bit trickey but the bike is light and feels safe. It also performs well while towing the kiddie cart.

Strengths: Price to start with a good road bike.Weaknesses: Weight. You will have to stronger in long hills.Bottom Line: The S50 is a perfect combination price X expectations, and it is good bike to start (while you do not know if you will go forward in cycling or enjoy a road bike).

Strengths: Way better than the old steel bike that I was riding.Weaknesses: I put 400 miles on the bike and the head tube cracked on both sides. After googling it, scott knows about the problem. They are replacing it with the S10 frame (All White) which looks like the same frame.Bottom Line: I bought a 2009 but couldn't select it in the drop down.
I just started riding so can't tell you to much about it.

Strengths: Extremely good frame, in fact, an outstanding frame. I paid $620 for the entire bike and the frame will come with me when I upgrade my components. Excellent frame. Very light. It's a good thing the frame is light because the stock components (mostly Sora) are clunky and heavy.Weaknesses: Obviously the components are the weak point on this bike. I'm still trying to adjust everything on there so things shift smoothly. Heavy components.Bottom Line: The first time I tested this bike at my LBS, I could feel the difference that it had over the other, even more expensive, bikes. I was a mountain bike rider who didn't know much about riding, but my cousin got me into road cycling and I got addicted quickly. I tested a Raleigh Grand Sport, Trek 1.5, Fuji Roubaix, GT GTR 3-Series, and others in the sub 1k price range. The Scott Speedster just felt right. It responded extremely well and I felt that I could control it with ease.

Bottom Line: I Bought the 09', I'm just starting to ride and having not tried the high end components (which i'm doing on purpose)I might switch to the 9 speed 105 set if I can find them on ebay. Because the shifters skip and that might be on the LBS to adjust them again but this is just a first impression review. Everything else seems smooth so far. Even though it has low end components.
