at Belmont Wheelworks Model Year: 2005 Bike Setup: Ultegra 10 speed (with Dura Ace bar-end shifters), Mavic Cosmic Carbone wheels, Profile Design aerobar, Easton carbon seatpost, Selle San Marco Aspide saddle Summary: This bike fills a long-neglected need in my view. Most tri bikes are either aluminum (which I do not like) or carbon (which I have never riden and probably can't afford). It is high-quality, lightweight steel. Because it's a Serotta, you also get a custom-built bike at no additional charge. This was the clincher for me as I am tall (6' 5") with a long torso.
I recently finished my first half-Iron triathlon on this bike and best thing I can say is that I did not even think about the bike for the 56 mile ride. The custom fit and the smooth ride made it seem like the bike was a natural extension of my body. The ride is smooth, even over rough roads, and the frame is nice and stiff, even when I'm out of the saddle on hills.
Turn-around time on building the frame was pretty quick too. If you ride longer triathlons and/or fit and comfort are very important for you, this bike is a great choice. Strengths: Custom geometry, smooth riding steel Weaknesses: Cost
