    Model Year:
    2004

    Favorite Ride:
    2004 specialized dolce elite

    Bike Setup:
speedplay X/3 pedals and a topeak compact handlebar bag.

    Summary:
i chose the elite version to get the upgraded components over the entry level dolce. i didn't think, as a brand new rider, that i needed to upgrade to a comp.

generally, i do like this bike. i have nothing to compare it to, as it is my first road bike. i love the bar phat. i also still ride on the stock seat a year later. i've ridden centuries and tons of miles with no problems. (i tried other saddles and went back to the one that came with the bike!)

one thing i'm not crazy about... the way the triple shifts. i have had this bike in the shop for adjustment too many times for the short year i've had it. it drops off the small ring, won't go onto the large ring, rubs in gears i'm supposed to be able to use... adjustment just doesn't seem to help! perhaps if they had used a shimano crand instead of a house/specialized brand?

i'm glad i got a 2004.. cuz i don't know what specialized was thinking with their 2005 colors!

    Strengths:
    smaller parts for smaller women

    Weaknesses:
the triple crank and inability to get it adjusted correctly
