Strengths: Smooth self tuning Ui2 shifters, confidence building frame, and comfort, oh yes comfort in spades !
Weaknesses: None
Bottom Line:
Not quite stock! But it is a beautiful ride, the frame takes out most of the road bumps and is very confidence inspiring. I returned to cycling after 37 years, quit smoking and started the new fitness regime. This bike is an absolute delight to ride and makes regaining fitness a pleasure. The total weight of the bike is 7.89kg and mine is 93kg and 57 years old. Everything runs smooth, from the excellent brakes to the Ui2 shifting which is buttery smooth.
Yes the bike is far better than I can justify as a rider, but my kids are off my hands and this is my retirement present to myself!

Strengths: Ride, Position, long distance comfort.
Weaknesses: Not something you would pick for a criterium.
Bottom Line:
This model is Ultegra equipped and has the Toupe Saddle - which replaced my favorite, the Alias. I bought this used as I had long liked the looks of the bike and had test ridden it a couple of times in the past. This is very smooth - it does not turn as quickly as the bike it replace, an R700. Initial reaction was positive, but it would not go as fast. That is no longer true, amd regularly sprint to 32 or so -which for me is fast. the seating position seems excellent and is much more comfortable on long rides - we have a lot of chip seal roads here which are truly horrible. The stem is easily adjusted to a more aggresive position if you desire and it does a great job of absorbig vibration.

Strengths: fit,its smooth , stiff,climbs well.
Weaknesses: so far the seat but not a big deal
Bottom Line:
just got my 2011 roubaix expert , ultegra, fulcrum wheels . this is my first carbon bike and i can say so far it is great will post again when i put some more mile on it.
Weaknesses: unsafe at any speed; don't risk your life on cheap carbon fiber
Bottom Line:
Worst reliability imaginable - fork cracked and sheared off while riding. See http://flic.kr/p/8T86SZ
Roval wheels returned 4 times before they gave up - Specialized uses Fulcrum wheels now
Weaknesses: seat sucks, replaced with Toupe expert, bars aluminum but not bad at all, carbon even better
Bottom Line:
This is a 2010 specialized robauix expert compact.I have rode several different bikes in test models and it dose not get anybetter.the comfort level is 10+ on a scale of 1-10. I have now purchased on craigs list a set of FSA K_WING bars and that will be the only upgrade other than a mor comfortable seat. "Smooth" dose not even describe the bike.Do your shopping but i find it is the best out there for the money. BY the way i'am 230 at 42 yrs old and a large frame guy, with a severe wrist problem and i have no issues on this bike.GOOD LUCK LOOKING take your time
Getting ready to buy a Roubaix Expert, but I am really struggling whether to buy the double or triple. I currently ride a Giant OCR 1, with the triple (105 front/Ultegra rear), I Read More »
