Specialized's Tarmac Comp Compact is the tool of choice for weekend-warrior hammerheads and racers alike. Its Specialized FACT-carbon frame and fork boast an awesome combo of feathery weight and maximum stiffness for ripping power transfer that you'll appreciate whenever the road tilts skyward or your friends pick up the pace. Its Shimano Ultegra 20-speed drivetrain with a compact crankset always gives you the perfect gear for the road's ups and downs, while the Fulcrum Racing wheels deliver easy speed. Plus, you'll love the Specialized aluminum and carbon components sprinkled throughout this fine road machine.
Strengths: Responsive yet relatively high comfort for a race-bike
Weaknesses: Not much, but i dont like the shape of the new Ultegra brake-handles.
Bottom Line:
Comfortable and responsive bike. Stiff frame/wheels. Reliable and smooth Ultegra. One major complaint though: my lokal bike shop installed the shim inside the stem (specialized speciality?) upside down and had not tightened the bolt inside the steering-tube, luckily i found this out before taking my first ride.
