Product Description

The Venge Pro's competition-crushing combo of Tarmac-inspired stiffness and light weight with Shiv-inspired aerodynamics makes this pure race machine truly more bike than aero. Pro-Tour proven SRAM Red keeps things as light and smooth-shifting as possible.

Strengths:    STIFF! FAST! Amazing power transfer. Incrediable handling. Aero. A true hardcore pure race bike.

Weaknesses:    Wheels could be better for a bike of this caliber. Head tube is way to tall. Mid Compact is not good.

Bottom Line:
This bike is amazing! after a couple of rides, slow and hard. I am left really impressed. The bike is rocket ship fast and stiff as you could hope for. The bike responds exceptionally to power. Start cranking on the pedals and the bike goes. When the bike really shines is at fast pace riding speed (22 mph and up) this is when you start to feel the adavatages of the aero and stiffness. When sprinting the bike is very predictable and confident. The bike launches and accelerates with ease begging for you to keep hammering. Also the handling is insane tight and very responsive. When climbing longer and or short very steep climbs the bike does feel a little slugish. The added stiffness makes you feel like all your effort is going into forward motion yet the bike does not want to respond the same at slower speeds. It still climbs great, but compared to the Tarmac the Venge is just a little more mellow on hard climbs. (of course that could be just a motor problem though). Also the added stiffness makes for a little more rough ride. This is not a smooth forgiving all day pleasure cruise bike. If your looking to gain some real performance and want a no nonsense all out race bike. The Venge is the bike you have been dreaming of. To be honest I ditched the stock wheels and upgraded to ENVE 65 very quickly. So the review is with much better wheels than stock. That being said, the stock wheels where really good. Just not as light.
