The new Absolutist 0.9 – absolutely convincing – in rigidity, weight and shape language
980g is the weight of the latest Storck frame evolution. Absolutist its name and absolute convincing are its features: Advanced monocoque production technology, strong 1¼ inch bottom bearing, ultra oversized chain-stays with 46mm height, unique proportional tubing geometry and a reinvented stiffer and even lighter mono-stay rear end. The new Absolutist – an absolutely fantastic racing bike with an addicting riding performance and outstanding rigidity values. Storck typical: The perfect combination of function and design in one bicycle. In conclusion the Absolutist speaks a new language of shapes. The well known Scenario CD model’s drop outs were overworked and became more compact and even lighter. The super sized Stiletto Aero fork received a shapely changeover to work with the lower 1¼ inch bearing of the new frame and even won in solidity.
Strengths: The bike is very light and very stiff which allows alot of transfer straight to the pedals and this bike loves hills.
Weaknesses: None that I can think of. Seriously. I cannot find any fault with it.
Bottom Line:
I have only just taken a keen interest in road bikes and under advice from a more experienced rider went for a carbon fibre frameset. I chose the Storck Absolutist 0.9. This was my first road bike and I was almost talked out of it by my friend as he thought it was alot of money to spend on a bike when I was only just starting out. All I can say is that I am glad that I went ahead and bought it. WOW. This bike is very fast and my top speed so far is 57.5kmh but that was a slightly downhill sprint. I average 28kmh over 30 or 40km. Some say this bike is uncomfortable but I disagree. The frame is stiff but I don't think it is a rough ride. Using cleats and the brake/gear change levers took a bit getting used to, and the steering can be a bit twitchy at times if you are not careful. All in all a fantastic bike, with the added bonus of looking great and being the envy of alot of people. I am training for my first 100 mile race and I am sure it will be great on this bike.
This is my first ever review and I will do another in six monts or so. I hope this helps.
