at Velo Cycle Pasadena, Favorite Ride: Death Ride Markleeville California Bike Setup: FSA 34-50 compact, rear Dura Ace 25, FSA brake calipers, Selle SMP Pro (very easy on the tuchas) Summary: Tried to ride the Markleeville Death Ride on an 8 year old Lemond Buenos Aires with XTR rear cluster. Bought the Time Pulse Edge with FSA compact and 25 Dura Ace rear. Much smoother than the steel frame Le Mond Up graded to a Selle SMP Pro seat, ergo carbon bar and a 27 in the rear for easier shlepping up hills. Strengths: Smooth ride, good downhill handling, fast response. Quiet shifting with the Dura Ace. Came with FSA compact crankset which makes for easier climbing. Very light bike. Someone found the carbon weave appearance dated, but I find it classic. Weaknesses: None, so far. Similar Products Used: Tried the Specialized Robaix, Cervello R3, Cannondale carbon, and Trek.
