Strengths:    Lightweight, small enough for a petite person.

Bottom Line:
I purchased my WSD Trek 1000 from a private seller who upgraded. I use it for triathlons and absolutely love it! When I compete in triathlons I often zoom past people with sweet rides, but this Trek fits and rides so perfectly. I'm a poor college student, but this bike has been one of my best investments.

Strengths:    smaller frame makes it great for smaller women (I'm 5-2), shifers are small and sized to fit women's hands, handlebars also seem thinner therefore easier to handle the bike, lightweight, great components for a stock bike

Weaknesses:    Cannot do sharp turns very easily. Foot hits the wheel when turning sharply

Bottom Line:
I've been wanting to take up cycling for a few years now, but never really knew where to start (get fitted, etc for a bike). My boyfriend has been cycling for awhile as has my best friend. They both stated I would probably need a WSD bike since I am so small.

My boyfriend found this bike on Craig's List for a deal (Trek 1000 WSD). It has all the basic stuff with it and we tried it out and it fits perfectly! I feel comfortable on it the entire time! Only get sore when going long miles and that's just because my body's not used to this new workout. Heh.
When I got the bike, the guy also included a wireless Cat-Eye on it. The Bike only had 42 miles on it (his girlfriend didn't ride it). Now since I've had it (almost 2 months now), the bike now has 250 miles on it. I love riding this! I've never felt more comfortable on a road bike in all my life!

Strengths:    Feels lightweight, carbon fork

Weaknesses:    The blue paint chips very easily, my foot hits the front wheel when I turn sharp corners.

Bottom Line:
After riding mountain bikes for years, I decided to buy a road bike. This is a great road bike, it comes with a carbon seatpost and a carbon fork. The bike handles great when climbing. I am 5'9" and the bike fits me wonderfully. It is a great starter bike and highly recommend it to anyone wanting to start cycling.

Strengths:    So far seems to hold well, love the lightness and speed it offers. Only had the bike for a couple of days. I will update in a few months

Weaknesses:    Can not make a full or fast uturn; foot sometimes hits the front wheel.

Bottom Line:
Hello everyone first off the bike is lighter and has a beautiful look to it simple yet stylish. I just purchased the bike Labor day and started riding it this Friday. It had to be taken down to get front derailler adjusted because it was making a rubbing rattling unacceptable noise they fixed it and it runs great now. One problem is the fact that I can not do full or fast Uturns, my foot hits the front wheel depending on what stage of pedalling I am on. Otherwise I am quite satisfied with my new and first road bike. I will go and have liners put in my tires and may upgrade saddle or at least put a gel like cover for more cushion... I am addicted to riding and regret I did not start at a younger age.

Strengths:    -Lightweight (for the money)
-Shifters are excellent (right side is a quick shifter, left is not due to design).
-WSD is great, smaller shifters make riding much easier.

Weaknesses:    -The seat is a bit hard (but aren't they all?) I would suggest replacing it with a Terry butterfly (you'll thank me later, TRUST ME).

Bottom Line:
I purchased my Trek 1000 WSD as an entry level road bike to compete in my first triathlon. After training and competing on it I have to say, its a great bike for the money. It's not the type of bike you would buy if you were a pro, but it is the type of bike you would buy if you're just entering into the sport of cycling.

I've gotten numerous complements from my team members (there are 40 of us women) who have seen me fly past them on both flat straights and hills.

NOTE: I was told that Treks come from the factory "already adjusted". I found that mine needed considerable adjusting. The shifter/break components needed to be moved up, the handbars needed to be reangled, and the seat needed to be readjusted (there's a glue that holds part of it on for manufacturing, it left my seat in a bad position).
